The iPod media players are developed, produced and marketed by computer and consumer electronics giant, Apple Inc. Since the first iPod controlled by mechanical buttons, the line has evolved considerably, as it reached a generations that allows bare finger control over the device.

However, a company does not run all by itself. The story of Apple is the Story of Steve Jobs, current chairman, CEO and co-founder of Apple Inc(former computer Inc.). The word "computer" was removed from the company's name after 30 years of activity, because of the company's desire of expansion towards the consumer electronics industry.
Steve Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955. He is an American business magnate and inventor who is best known for being co-founder and CEO at Apple Inc. Jobs was also chief executive at Pixar Animation Studios. When Disney bought Pixar in 2006, Steve Jobs became a member of the board of the Walt Disney company.
In the late 1970s, Steve Jobs, alongside Robert Wozniak(the other co-founder of Apple Inc), Mike Markkula and other have designed, developed and marketed one of the first successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II line. Due to the commercial potential that Steve Jobs saw in the mouse driven graphical user interface(GUI), Apple released the Machintosh in the early 1980s. Due to a power struggle that Jobs lost with the Apple board of directors, he was forced to resign from the company and start NeXT, a computer platform development company specialized in the high education and business markets.
Apple's subsequent buyout of Steve's NeXT brought him back in the company in 1966 and he was named CEO of Apple on 1967. Steve Jobs acquired the computer graphics division of Lucasfilm Ltd, which was spun off as Pixar Animation. He remained CEO and majority shareholder of Pixar until 2006 when it was bought by Walt Disney. Steve Jobs is currently a member of the Walt Disney board of directors due to their acquisition(Pixar).

Jobs attended Cupertino Junior High School and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. He also frequented after school lectures at the Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, California. He was soon hired at the Hewlett Packard Company as a summer employee. That is how him and the other Apple co-founder, Robert Wozniak, got to work together and know each other. In 1972, Jobs graduated High School and enrolled in Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Although he dropped out after only one semester, he continued auditing classes at Reed College, such as one in calligraphy.
