iPad comes with a price of only $499 and let’s not forget that you can use those Multi-Touch Screen functions as you want. Calendars, Applications, Wi-Fi, Youtube, HD,Maps, iTunes, iPod, Mail, iBooks and so many other things can be done with an iPad. It’s interesting, it’s new and you’ll want it. But, do you really need it? This is the big question. After 80 days when the iPad was released (April 2010), Apple has sold 3 millions of this devices and 4.19 millions iPads around the world (after the second quarter).

The design of the iPad is not that special, the bulk of its surface is up by 9,7 inch, multitouch LED-backlight, 1024x768. Like most of the Apple products, it’s has a piece of curved aluminum on its back and of course, the Apple logo. It can be difficult for some to type on that flat screen and it can create a big problem. If you’re watching a movie, this device will be almost perfect for something like this.
iPad it’s really comfortable to hold and yes, it’s more handful than an iPhone. Everything about this new product is about the screen. It has many settings for a painful brightness which is important especially for those who choose to read a book with the iPad. It has three options for internal size: 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive, and there is no option in expanding the storage.
Apple also sells some iPad accessories for those who need it:
- iPad Keyboard Dock with hardware keyboard, audio jack and 30-pin connector
- iPad Dock with audio jack and 30-pin connector
- iPad Case (used to stand the iPad in different positions)
- iPad Camera Connection Kit which includes a USB Type A connector adapter and an SD card (used to transfer videos and photos)
- iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter (used for external monitor or projector)
- iPad 10W USB Power Adapter with 2 A output (10W)

What were the reactions received to this combination of a phone and laptop? As we said before, there were different opinions that came from different parts of the world. On May, 2010, the iPad was released in Canada, Japan and Australia. On the same time, it was released in some countries in Europe. The media noted positive reactions and also negative reactions for the iPad and there are still questions coming from all over the world about what an Apple iPad is.
It was clear from the start that this product will create some controversies and it still does. Some say it’s useful, some say it’s not. The only thing we can say is that, at the price of $499, it is obvious that Apple wants to create a new generation.
