Verizon Wireless iPhone

posted in iPhone, by adimoga

The Apple iPhone is an Internet and multimedia enabled smartphone, which can not only perform simple mobile phone tasks such as calling or sending a text message, but also more complex ones like connecting and surfing the Internet through a Wi-Fi hotspot, or playing high quality music and videos through specific applications. With the new 5 megapixel camera, the iPhone 4 could easily pass by as a low-end digital camera.

However, with all these amazing features, Apple has not yet succeeded in finding a proper carrier for their miracle phone. They started out in 2007, when the device was first released with AT&T, which turned out to be a total failure. Thousands of calls were made towards Apple and AT&T regarding the very poor performance their products accomplish together. They received several complaints regarding a very small or none signal in places where the bar should be high up, like the center of Chicago.

A journalist tested the theory that AT&T's carrier doesn't work in rich populated places such as central Chicago on Apple's iPhone by renting a hotel room in that specific area. In the end, he found himself looking out the windows with no signal bars at all. This was not the only problem they had to face, as many other complaints regarding different problems such as bugs were made, and also made Apple reconcile the deal with AT&T.

As of 2010, those who visited the T-Mobile website could see a big banner regarding them selling iPhone 4 copies, as the phone's carrier. So Apple closed a deal with a worldwide famous, mass utilized phone carrier. Rumors has it that Apple wanted to begin negotiating with Verizon Wireless, but took things this way: Why enter unsafe negotiations that have no proof of standing up with a carrier that made fun of your phone in their Droid commercials, when you can chose closing up a rapid and painless deal with a carrier that is also very famous and appreciated? (the first one being Verizon Wireless, and the second one T-mobile).

However, the infinite rumors of an Apple-Verizon deal seem to have been brought back to life again, as it kind off came out that Apple is working on a CMDA version of their smartphone, a special version for the Verizon network, which is the first network in USA when it comes to 4G, because they already have one while other powerful networks like AT&T only dream of such accomplishments at the moment. However, we will have to wait until further this year for such a deal between the two companies, because nothing is official at the moment. Rumors also have it that the relationship between Verizon Wireless and Apple will begin when the second company will release their newest smartphone, the iPhone 5.
