The Apple Way Tv Show

posted in Apple, by adimoga

You can find a lot of phrases containing the word "apple' on the internet, but not everything is about the famous computer company. You must admit that this word is in the dictionary describing a fruit, so not all the world revolves around computers after world. For example "apple's way" is not an Apple gadget, but a tv series that was famous somewhere in the 1970s. Actually Apple's way TV show was on air just two years, between 1974-1975 and because the ratings were not exactly what the TV channel CBS had hoped for, the series only lasted for two seasons.

The story around which the plot revolves is very simple and generous at the same time. An American family that has lives the whole life in the city, the Apple family, decide to leave the comfort of the city life and all the advantages and disadvantages of city life and return to the simple life offered by the old family home back in Appleton, a small village in Iowa that was built by the late family members.

Apple's way TV show presents all the contradictions and differences between life in the city and in the village, all the things people have to do in order to adjust to a farm life, all the tensions and fights generated by this sudden change. The young people especially are very angry that they had to come in the middle of nowhere and they miss their old life and all the friends.

The entire series has only two seasons and 28 episodes, but the script for these episodes were written by so many people, that you could easily guess it when watching one episode after another, as styles differed a lot and also the screen writer's view on the plot and characters. I read some forums where movie enthusiasts from all over the world wrote their opinions about all kinds of movies and TV series and they all said they were glad when it was finished. the only thing that hasn't changed from one episode to the next were the actors that performed. Somebody who had the opportunity to watch the show when it was broadcasted first (it was also re-run on two tv channels some time in the 1980s and 1990s) compared this tv series with a very hot pepp: it was painful to eat it, but you couldn't stop not finishing it.

Any way, the movie specialists invented a new term for this kind of TV productions - "dramedy'. That word is obtained by combining the two words: drama and comedy and illustrates the whole picture of the TV series. It was meant to be a family drama, but sometimes it had some hilarious moments that made the show more appealing.

Here is the cast of this tv series:

George Apple - Ronnie Cox

Barbara Apple - Frances Lee McCain

Paul Apple - Vince Van Patten

Patricia Apple - Franny Michel, Kristy McNicol

Cathy Apple - Patti Cohoon

Aldon Apple - Malcolm Attenbury

Steven Apple - Eric Olson
