Available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch, Star Walk allows you to get a great view of the dense Milky Way clouds, also offering excellent details of the planets. Taking it all one step further than just that, it also offers photos of the Messier objects. Just for the record - I guess not everyone reading this is an astronomer - these "Messier objects" are galaxies, star clusters, and nebulas.
As long as you have an iPhone or iPod Touch ready to receive Star Walk, things are looking great - you'll be able to see past and future astronomical events on their screen as seen from any place on Earth, while you won't need a Computer Science or Astronomy degree to use it!
For now, there are only 6 languages supported in version 1.1, but we'll get more in the near future, I am sure of that. After all, we're all counting stars in the sky, no matter the nationality and, for some, counting stars may be one of the few freedoms left...
