MacBook Air Accessories

Are you looking for some MacBook Air accessories? Well, there  are tons out there, the only problem is finding the one you need. Good accessories can make your life easier and must be also reliable. Yes,  MacBook Air is really thin and light, but it can still be “slow”. We know it looks really good and that it’s very tempting. If you are ready to  accept the fact that you’ll need to buy some accessories besides the laptop, then you can have it.

MacBook Air has only one USB port. It sounds bad, doesn't it it? The solution is that you must pick up a USB hub with at least four ports. You are  going to need it if you have to use more than one USB at the same time.  You will also need an Ethernet USB adapter. Why? Because Apple has decided to leave the Ethernet port off the MacBook. We’re sure that you  would like to have a better Internet connection than the one that  the wireless provides. The only thing that you can do is to buy a USB  Ethernet provider (probably the most important thing after the USB hub).  Of course, you may need an Ethernet cable too. This is only available for those users who don’t have a piece of cable somewhere in the house.

We’re also sure that you’ll need a case. You will want one because  you want your MacBook to look really good and you won’t accept any  scratches on it. That’s why, the laptop should have a case, and for the MacBook users the most popular one is the Incase sleeve. It is very practical because you place your laptop with this case inside a travel  bag, or a large purse or even in a backpack. Your MacBook will have the  protection it needs and it can’t be uncomfortable for you.  There also  is an Incase Backpack which is more suitable for students. It has plenty  of space for your books and notebooks. Besides this, it offers the  protection you need for your MacBook. Why should you carry a backpack  and another laptop tote when you can have all in one?

You should also consider protecting you keyboard. How? By using the Moschi Clearguard keyboard protector. You can hardly notice it, offers  your keyboard that new look all the time and it’s a good protection.

It’s somehow sad that you have to buy so many things when you own a MacBook Air.  You will notice that after buying all you need, the price of your  laptop will be bigger and you may want your PC back.

It’s a shame that this MacBook has only one USB device, one external monitor connection  and one headphone jack. You will have many stuff to carry around with  you and it can be really disturbing one day. Today were only presented  the most important things you need on your MacBok Air accessories list, but you may need even more. You will buy more if you want to enjoy you MacBook Air.

Verizon Apple iPhone

After three years of intense gossip and rumors, Apple finally closed a deal with Verizon, so they can be the host of Apple's new CMDA version of the iPhone 4. This was announced at a keynote which was held in New York, and was the biggest surprise of the night.

However, there could be downsides about this partnership, like the fact that the CMDA technology that was used to make this iPhone compatible with Verizon's network will prevent users to perform any kind of multitasking while in a call. So you can forget all about those days when you could check your phone book, check up an address, or write an email, all while still talking to the person on the other line. That is if you decide to switch to Verizon and get an iPhone, or you already are on Verizon and plan on having a CMDA iPhone. If not, you could remain a AT&T or T-Mobile user. The reason is that the CMDA implemented technology separates the voice from the data, and makes them impossible to work at the same time.

Even tough it is kind of a selling point not only for the iPhone, but for smartphones in general, Verizon just doesn't seem capable of doing it just yet. This is one of the biggest drawbacks from this partnership. There are other drawbacks too. For one, Verizon had a way of showing off with their new 4G LTE network, which by Verizon standards, makes the Apple iPhone old technology. The 4G LTE network was the focus of Verizon's keynote at the Consumer electronics 2011 presentation. There are amazing chances that Apple will release the next installment to heir iPhone line this summer, and it is very possible that it would be carrier-neutral, considering that the multi-year contract that Verizon closed with Apple is not inclusive, and AT&T lost pretty much all of its exclusivity on the iPhone, or at least it would support both networks.

The new iPhone will probably come with Verizon's 4G LTE network, considering that both of them and Apple are pushing really hard in that direction. Even tough Verizon reassured consumers that they will have no network problems with the iPhone, we have an actual proof that the Verizon network will be able to support the Apple iPhone CMDA version.

And this closed deal with Verizon doesn't just mean that all the problems with the dropped calls that Apple experienced with AT&T are just going to disappear, meaning that there is a big chance that all those problems were actually made by the iPhone, which seems to be not so good at being a mobile phone, if you look at the performance bar when it comes to calling vs. multimedia or internet features.

Verizon and iPhone

One of the most speculated subjects about the Apple iPhone remains the rumor about it being available on Verizon's  network. If the subject is available since the appearance of the first iPhone model back in 2007, the press managed to find out that Apple and Verizon have been negotiating since 2008. Well, all that gossip is finally over, as the Verizon iPhone was officially announced and set for the market in February this year.

When it comes to surprises, there weren't too many at the keynote that took place in New York a couple of  days ago, everyone being sure of the release of a CMDA enabled iPhone, that in their opinion, was going to be pretty much the same phone as the  AT&T model. One of the things that did not change between the CMDA  enabled and the normal iPhone 4 is the price which remains $199 for the 16 GB iPhone and $299 for the 32 GB iPhone.

Existing Verizon customers can start pre-ordering their Apple iPhones as of February 3. After the announcement of the iPhone itself, the biggest new at the keynote was  that the CMDA iPhone was going to benefit from Verizon's HotSync feature which allows you to transform your mobile phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five different devices. This is a feature that was never  offered by AT&T, who did their best by offering a minor tethering  option, that allows you to make the iPhone a basic cellular internet modem for up to $60 per month. Everybody remembers the annoying dropped calls that appeared so often at the AT&T iPhone, so Verizon made  sure to tweak their network so things like that won't happen with their CMDA model.

Verizon has been preparing for this moment for two years, since 2008, and since then it has been saving space in their network so when this day comes, they will have enough room for a massive number of new  clients that could easily fill in the blank without slowing down the  network. The new Verizon iPhone also got a new antenna so things will be  assured at least in what concerns the handset. However, despite this announcement, there is no information available about the data pricing  from Verizon, or what will they charge for the HotSync feature.

Even if they were asked this question at the keynote, they managed to decline  and remain "no comment", saying that more information will be available when we get closer to the launch. Basically, iPhone and Verizon will not  tell us until like feel like telling us. A bad side to this release  will be that the CMDA iPhone will not be able to support calling and data at the same time, so you can forget about things like checking your address book or writing an email, all while still talking to somebody on the phone, due to the technology that was used to make this iPhone compatible with Verizon's network.

iPod Nano 3rd Generation

posted in iPod, by adimoga

The iPod Nano 3rd Generation is available in 4 GB and 8 GB versions. The best thing is that this new versions have the same prices as their 2 Gb and 4 GB predecessors. If you’re interested in purchasing the new iPod Nano, you should know that the 4 GB models come only in silver, but the 8 GB one come in black, silver, red, light blue and dark blue (the red one is part of a project which fights disease in Africa).

If we’re talking about the aspect, then we have to say that the iPod Nano 3rd generation has that shiny-metal back as the full-size iPod does. That’s not really such a great idea because it scratches more than anodized metal and there are finger prints everywhere. It’s very comfortable and the Click Wheel is thinner and that means that it needs more precision when you are scrolling through the menu.

The Apple iPod Nano is wider because it was designed for a larger screen (2 inches, up from 1,5 inches). So you can watch videos just like on a larger iPod screen. Apple also made the screen with 65 percent brighter and it’s made if the same material as the previous iPods (rather that a durable optical glass used on the iPod Touch and on the iPhone).

You may say that the screen it’s too small, but the videos ca be watched with no problems. Also, the menu is really easy to use; the text is clear and easy to read. You can really say that the picture quality can be compared to the one of the iPhone, only it’s smaller. The dock connector port it’s placed on the bottom of the player and right next to it, it’s the headphones jack and the Hold switch. The dock connector port is placed in the center of the iPod’s bottom and it looks really good there and not awkward at all. Another good thing is that you can use any headphones you want with this iPod because it has a standard 1/8-inch plug.

As for the battery life, well, Apple says that if you’re watching videos, it will stay charged for about 5 hours. Now, it you’re listening music, then the battery can make up to 24 hours. Of course, the battery life can ne shorter if you frequently skip songs or if you use the iPod’s backlight for extended periods. We can say that iPod Nano 3rd generation is actually a winner because it’s been improved in almost every way and now it’s only a smaller version of the iPod Classic.

The only thing that you have to get use to is the smaller Click Wheel, the smaller screen and less storage. Instead you get an iPod with a smaller price and that matters if you want an iPod and of you don’t have the money to het one. The iPod Nano 3rd generation is really practical and it’s easy to use one. Because of it’s size, you won’t feel it like something uncomfortable, it’s almost perfect.
