I am really amazed by how hard can be to change people stuck in their old ways. "I need Microsoft Office. Could you get me one copy?" Even when I point out the fact that they'll have to spend A LOT for a program they only use at 5% of the capacity, and there are plenty of free alternatives, they keep going their way. Some of them say I don't want to help and go grab some pirated version off the Web, but they don't even want to try some OpenOffice.org or anything similar. I guess that's the reason for Microsoft to push Office for iPhone into the market...

...and I can't blame them. After all, Microsoft is there to make money, not to make us happy. Don't say the truth is different - I know there may be people with good intentions in that company, but the overall impression is that Microsoft is nothing more but a vampire out for blood. End of that story.
Now, it seems Microsoft has high hopes when it comes to Office for iPhone, only that the thing is not ready yet. At the Web 2.0 Expo keynote, Stephen Elop, President of Microsoft Business Division, hinted that Microsoft Office could make its way to the iPhone pretty soon, but when asked about the timeframe, he said "not yet, keep watching."
Do we have another vaporware case here? I guess not, I only hope OpenOffice.org to come up with something sooner. Of course, it could also be some obscure software company from Afghanistan, it doesn't really matter, as long as we're going to get some Office for iPhone, and a good one. I think that having Microsoft Office on the Mac should be enough...
