NVIDIA Graphics Update!

posted in software news, by Codrut Nistor

Finally, Apple came up with a NVIDIA graphics update, the first one this year. What I really find funny with these updates is seeing sentences like "boosts HD video performance," just like Macs using NVIDIA video chipsets were sent to their knees by HD content, and now we're having a messianic driver update! Anyway, updates are updates, so let's check those few details available about this NVIDIA graphics update, 2009 edition, shall we?
NVIDIA Graphics Update

Posted on the 26th of January, this update has a very laconic description, as usual. You can see it below:

"This update improves cursor movement when using the Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter with the Mini DisplayPort enabled MacBook Air, MacBook and MacBook Pro.

It also improves playback of HD video running on systems with NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT or GeForce 9600M graphics."

That's it, folks, but to give it all, here's the download link of the 3.2MB NVIDIA graphics update for Mac OS X 10.5.6. I really hope it's going to help you improve your Mac user experience, so...good luck!

Oh, yeah, I was just about to forget it, but the Software Update tool made me recall that iDVD and iLife Media Browser also go updated! Here you have the details...

"iDVD Update 7.0.3 - 27.42MB
This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues.

iLife Media Browser Update 2.0 - 2.66MB
This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues. It is recommended for all users of Aperture, iLife ’08, iWork ’08, and Mac OS X 10.5.6 Leopard or later."

That's it, folks - just use the Software Update tool and everything should work like a charm!

Love the detail in Apple's fix notes. Yeah, they definitely have their consumers in mind when writing them. Keep it simple.

Don't bother flaming me, I am gone.
