New iPhone Leather Cases

posted in gadgets, by Codrut Nistor

If I have to protect some gadget of mine, I won't ever settle for anything less than leather. I know, I know - natural leather means some animal was tortured to obtain it, a poor soul has been sent to heaven, bla-bla-bla, but I am not changing my cases each Christmas, so I can live with that. The question is another - can I live with a red case, like the one below? I guess not, but the good part of the story is that these new iPhone leather cases from IvySkin also come in black! Pheew...

If leather is not black, then - at least to me - it's really gay. Some go as far as claiming that black leather jackets and pants are also gay, but I wouldn't go that far. After all, you can wear whatever you want, as long as it's not something to be ashamed of, or make you break some law. Now, let's take a look at the Glider-Pro, shall we?

According to the company behind it, "The Glider-Pros' super slim profile is combined with an industrial grade pulley system that can withstand forces in excess of 80 pounds in any direction, making it an ideal case that will exceed your expectation for a high quality slim leather case. Its full chrome tab adds a unique twist to its design that complements the iPhone."

Full chrome? Metal, yeah, sure, bring it on! Wait, this is only the beginning, because there's a bit more to know about the new iPhone leather cases from IvySkin and their metal parts - "Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the new Glider-Pro(TM) design is the use of real chrome pulley system for a quick access to the iPhone or iPod touch. The patent pending Glider-Pro technology is the most innovative leather case in the market. It also provides full coverage for both iPod touch and iPhone."

Just as it should be the case with such products, the Glider-Pro cases come with a full lifetime warranty, and you can get them in black and red, for a MSRP of $34.99. Where? You won't waste too much time finding them, believe me, since the Glider-Pro line is available online at IvySkin, J&R music world, Amazon, NewEgg, but it's also going to be soon available through a worldwide range of retailers!

On the third day, I pulled the strap to get my iPhone out of the IvySkin leather case and the case ripped halfway down the back. Sounded like paper tearing. Leather ripping????? I didn’t think that this was possible. This is not what was advertised on their website (“an industrial grade pulley system that can withstand forces in excess of 80 pounds in any direction”). One problem is that the case is a bit too tight to use with the Reception Case.
