iTunes Politics

posted in news, by Codrut Nistor

I hope you're not into politics, but if you are, then be sure I am not talking about you. As far as I know, in other areas of the world, people into politics and administration usually do their job, or at least they are trying to show the others they are. In my country...it's enough to say that 99% of those into politics are people you'd throw in jail, and most of them are not even worth 2 cents as humans and professionals in their field of expertise, if they have such a thing. Anyway, considering the fact that I am totally disgusted by politics, these are simply realities we look at every day, and most of us completely ignore the area, so if I would see political stuff recorded as audio or video tracks...

...I would surely laugh my ass off! In fact, I just finished rolling on the floor, and now I am back with a vengeance - this is not a nightmare, and not even some crazy dream, because it happened! Fortunately, it's in the US, but I still consider this a very amusing and useless initiative. Just read on and wonder!

These days, the electoral campaign moves on in full force across the US, and the Republican and Democratic National Conventions got huge media coverage.
In a move that could be considered smart by some (not me!), Apple made available on iTunes audio files for just about every speaker from both parties I mentioned earlier, as well as video and audio files for the more prominent ones. If all these would have been available for $0.99 a piece, I would surely be rolling on the floor once more, but they are not. They are free. So...is Apple going into politics, or were they paid to post these on iTunes?

As far as I can tell, the iTunes store should remain free of such things. Why? Because entertainment, education and politics don't cross each other's path every day, and things should remain that way! Anyway, since I am not living in the US, I am really interested in your opinion regarding this... so please drop your comments below, I will be grateful for your thoughts and your time!
