HD, HD, HD, everybody's dreaming about it these days. In fact, it even makes you think how was it possible for movies to exist before HD came along! Well, HD means progress, and everyone slowly embraces it. Now, the time has come for Apple's iTunes. Yes, my friends, iTunes HD movies are knocking at the door!

I know, I know, there were HD movies on iTunes already, but think about this - so far, you had to rent them directly on your Apple TV, if you had one, of course. Now, HD movie sales and rentals are coming to the iTunes Store, and despite the fact it's only beginning with a few titles, including Transporter 3 and Bangkok Dangerous, it's great to see it happening.
Titles available for preorder include "Twilight" and "Quantum of Solace," arriving on the 21 and 24 of the month. If you're wondering about the prices, you should know that sales will be $19.99US, while rentals have a cost of $4.99.
Unfortunately, quality is not quite HD yet, because the files will be 720p with H.264 compression, and they'll take up about 4 GB or more of your hard drive each. 20 bucks for a digital 720p movie? Thanks, but I'll pass.
So...when are we going to see 1080p movies on iTunes? 2012, maybe? Damn, I hate this! :(
