Like every other iPhone available, the iPhone 4 was a great success, not only for the many new capabilities that it had to offer, but for the new operating system as well. Apple made a tradition from launching the next major iOS (which is their Mac OS based operating system intended for the iPhone, iPod and iPad) version close to that of the new iPhone model, so this year couldn't be any different, as the new iPhone 4 comes with preinstalled iOS 4.0 (or higher, for newer copies). Here are some of the new iPhone's characteristics so you can judge for yourself how well Apple has done.

FaceTime:This feature lets you commence video calls at the best quality, with several options, like changing the position of the little window which shows you what the other person sees (meaning you), the possibility of rapidly switching between cameras, so you can turn on the back camera at anytime, so that your friend might see what you see. The bottom line is that you couldn't have better video call service than the iPhone's FaceTime.
Retina Display: The iPhone 4's liquid crystal display is set on amazing users with its very high resolution and clarity, and you couldn't ask for better image. The new pixel technology implemented in this iPhone models shows off when observating details such as anti-aliasing.
The new Antenna: The antenna on the iPhone 4 is also the main attraction in the phone's new look. The gray band that surrounds the phone's edges is not only glamorous, but effective as well. The only problem with this piece of equipment is that holding your finger over a specific area of the antenna causes sever loss of signal, and represents quite an inconvenient for those who use their left hand. However, Apple fond a way to patch that problem, by giving away free (at that time) cases. The other change in the iPhone's appearance is that it no longer has that round shaped back, Apple choosing a slate case.
Hardware improvements: This iPhone brings the A4 processor which in the power of 1 Ghz, provides the device with a massive amount of power. The phone doesn't stand poor in the RAM directory either, with 1 GB to spare.

When you say iPhone 4, you also say iOS 4, so try adding up the technological improvements of the new iPhone, with the massive amount of new features brought by the operating system (Apple claims to be over 100 new features available).
With these having been said, it is impossible for someone to say that the new iPhone 4 is not one of the most incredible smartphones ever created, if not the very best. Few phones like those branded by HTC can stand up to the expectations of an iPhone killer.
