Since our whole live is nowadays based on portability, from the desire to have a portable computer, a small phone easy to carry and also the need to be in touch all the time with the wide world, there have been solutions all the time such as the wireless internet connection, that helps everybody to stay in touch no matter where.
But sometimes, it may be impossible to have an internet stick to provide you a wireless connection or to be near a router. This is why if you are an Apple iPhone owner, and you also have a laptop, you can use your phone as a modem in order to connect to the internet.
This process is called tethering and represents the process that helps you to connect your iPhone via Blootooth to your portable device in order to provide an internet connection. It is really easy to realize and represents the most comfortable way to gain access to the internet. Even if other smartphones don’t have this option, as far as concerns the iPhone, the users are really spoiled. If they don’t desire to connect to the internet via the phone, by accessing the service, and they need to use the internet connection for a bigger device such as the laptop, from different reasons such as the need to have a bigger screen in order to be able to do the daily tasks or work, tethering the iPhone is the back up for them. You just have to set the iPhone to the USB mode (for those who use the Windows), install the PDA desktop software, and add a fake connection to the computer so you can be able to connect to it via the PDA soft. In your computer you will have to choose from the Start menu the Settings menu and then go to the icon called Network Connections. Now choose to create a new connection and then set up a new connection manually by choosing the option”Connect choosing a dial-up modem”.
You will now have to set an user name and a password for your connection and keep the PDA soft opened in order to connect the two devices. Now you just have to enter the password you have chosen and the username and press connect and you will directly be connected to the Internet via your iPhone. The process is not a complicated one, even more than that is a very easy one and recommended when you want a fast internet connection. In this way you can have both portability and connection at the same time. Isn’t it something, or what?
