Iphone Easter Eggs

posted in iPhone, by adimoga

We all love holidays and traditions that come with them. We love Christmas and the gifts we get now and we love Easter and whatever the Easter Bunny might bring. I am sure you all know the Easter tradition of hiding nicely colored Easter eggs and then telling the children to find them. It's a real challenge for parents to find the best hiding places and for children to find the most eggs. It's a very funny and enjoyable activity for all family members and everybody has a great time during it. Apparently that tradition was also a source of inspiration for the people from Google and Apple, who thought it would be funny to hide some "Easter eggs" inside the iPhone applications. These iPhone "Easter eggs" are in fact small funny applications that seem to come out of nowhere, but they are in fact designed to pop up when you make a certain combination of commands for entertainment purposes only.

Sometimes it's a screamer hidden under a certain application - you know that kind of video file that has no matter what content and ends up showing a hideous face on the screen of your iPhone, screaming their lungs out and scaring you to death. Some other times it's a little game that's hidden and makes the iPhone use even more fun that before. I found even a web site where you could design your own Easter eggs as Easter cards that you could send to your friends and family members.

If you have an iPhone and you have not been aware of these iPhone Easter eggs that are hidden in the software of your device and want to find them to see what they are like I will tell you a few tricks you have to make in order to find them, that is I will find you the exact combination of commands that will take you to an Easter egg. A lot of Easter eggs can be found in Google App for iPhone. Access it and sweep the menu upwards until you reach "About" screen. You will find there a new menu entry called " Bells and Whistles". It will allow you to change the colour of the application, change the default sound to a monkey or a chicken a some more. Here , in the itunes, you will find the "Paint your Easter egg" application that allows you to design your own Easter cards.

You can also find the game Dark Castle as one of the iPhone Easter eggs. If you want to unlock it and enjoy the iPhone version of this nice game, you will have to follow the instructions presented here. Some iPhone users that played with their device for quite some time looking for the eventual Easter eggs claim they have found such eggs that hint to the next generation iPhone features. They are presumable hidden as parts of texts inside some of the iPhone software applications and they were put there on purpose. I guess you will have to start looking yourself to see if these rumours are true or not.
