iPhone 3G And AT&T
If you remember those extremely long (and interesting) talks about the iPhone 3G problems we had here, on BindApple, I am sure you can also recall that a lot of people complained about the 3G signal quality, dropped calls, and other related issues that can be easily considered carrier-related problems. Now, we have some new reports regarding iPhone 3G and AT&T, some of them claiming network problems, while AT&T has reported a bit later this issues to be solved, as we're going to see right away...

On the East coast of the US, 3G service should be all right in most areas, as you can see in the image above. Unfortunately, "should" is not the same as "is," since scattered reports claim connection problems that go as far as completely lacking cellular data functions, in some areas. Even more, problems with e-mail and Web browsing occurred over EDGE and HSDPA (3G), and it seems this wasn't something localized in a small area, since New York, Missouri, North Carolina and Massachusetts seem to have been affected.
Hey, hey, don't jump all over saying the iPhone 3G is bad! I am not crazy about it, either, but owners of BlackBerries or N95s also reported problems, and some of them even said it may be possible to obtain credit from AT&T as compensation!
I don't know if they'll get it or not, but the good part is that, according to AT&T, issues on the Eastern coast have been solved - "There was a routing issue affecting some wireless data use in the Northeast region. AT&T technicians determined the cause and restored service at 11:56AM EDT. Voice calling, text messaging and BlackBerry e-mail were unaffected."
Now, one question remains - those who had online video conferences or reports to send and couldn't do anything because of the issues, as well as those less affected, will they be able to get any compensation, or not? I hope our AT&T guys who were so nice to clear things out in the past to drop by and give us some inside information, if possible. That would be highly appreciated, as usual!
