Iphone 3.0 Software Sync Calendar

posted in iPhone, by adimoga

The iPhone is a very smart device that is almost indispensable these days for the modern representative of our society. It has a lot of features and applications that you can't possibly find all the necessary time to use all of them. But sometimes, you feel the need to use it in combination with other applications that you can find for free download on the internet, so you want to use the sync feature of your iPhone. Now you can have your own iPhone 3.0 software sync calendar offered either by Google or Yahoo, as they are among the most used and also the most complete free calendars available on the internet. It's not very hard to set your phone to do that as all you have to do is follow the steps below.

First of all you should know that you can't use the Google sync on your iPhone if your software is older than 3.0. Then if it's ok with the software part you must back up all the contacts and data from the iPhone calendar in your computer, so you won't lose it in case something goes wrong. You sync with the iTunes for that operation.

- Open your iPhone and go to Settings.

- Then go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

- Access the second row which says "Add account" and choose microsoft exchange.

Then it's time for you to introduce the details of the account.

- The first field is "Domain", but it is optional and you don't have to fill it.

- Then you must write your Google account and password, as you can't use the calendar offered by Google unless you have an account.

- Then press the "next" button that you can see on the top right corner of the iPhone screen. If you introduced a wrong account and/or password you won't be able to go to the next step and you will see the following message "unable to verify certificate", so just choose "cancel" if that happens and introduce the right information now.

- You should see a "server" field that you fill in with "m.google.com" and under it the "domain" field again that you do not complete again.

- Go "next" again and then choose the Google service that you want to sunc from the three displayed on screen: Mail, contacts and calendars. You will be asked then "What do you want to do with existing local contacts on your iPhone". If you want to keep all them, just select Keep on my iPhone, but if you no longer want them, then press delete.

That's it. You have now your iPhone 3.0 software sync calendar. It wasn't that hard, right? If you have already enabled the Push option on your device, the synchronization should begin automatically without any other operations to be done by you. If you want multiple calendars you will have to choose them. And then spend half an hour filling in all the details and seing how the features imported from Google calendar work on your iPhone. Yes, technology is unbelievable.
