iMac Viruses

Unfortunately nowadays nothing is safe. Apple multinational Company, who designed iMac computers, recommends having on your devices active antivirus software programs. You never know when hackers stole your personal information and they can also use them for different purposes.

In case that you receive an unexpected e-mail, you don’t have to respond to it or when you download programs from the Internet, it is advisable to check firstly the software’s source. It is very important to stay away from red light district because these are the most dangerous websites from where you can get viruses!



In this article you will find a little review about iMac viruses. You have to know that all models from the Macintosh family contains Mac OS X operating system whose advantage is that doesn’t get viruses as easily as the Personal Computer’s Windows does. How you know that your iMac computer has a virus? First of all, you have to download and install an antivirus program from the Internet. You have the possibility to choose between more programs including Sophos Antivirus, ClamXav, iAntiVirus™, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac, Avira AntiVir and many others. You have to know that for some of them you have to pay in order to use it and you can simply download the others. In case that you choose ClamXav which is one of the best software programs, you have to drag and drop it into “Applications” folder which is situated on the “Finder” window’s left side. Then you can open the folder or the program which you want to verify if contains virus or not. For this process you have to click on “Choose what to scan” tab. After you have selected the program you have to hold down with your finger “Shift” button from the keyboard and click on “Start Scan” application. You have to wait a few minutes until the antivirus program scans and verifies if your iMac contains virus or not. In case that you have viruses you have the possibility to choose between two opportunities.
