iLuv iPod-DVD Hybrid Player

No matter what kind of media can be played on a device you're buying for your living room, it must have a dock for iPods. Why? I am not crazy about trends, and I don't even care about such things in my life, I always buy what I consider to be useful, but sometimes I also think about my friends. Here's a situation: most of your friends have iPods, so when you invite them to a party, one of them says something about a song you never heard of. "Here, I have it on my iPod, out it on your stereo system!" Would you like to end up saying "my stereo system doesn't have a dock?" Pretty embarrassing, if you ask me. Well, here's today's solution to such a problem - iLuv i1255!

iLuv i1255

Priced at $149.99, the iLuv i1255 is a 5.1 channel slim desktop iPod/DVD hybrid player, able to play DVD media, as well as music stored on iPods. The feature list has two sections - one iPod-related, and the other, containing features connected to the DVD player of the device, as it follows:

Features for Your iPod
• Watch your favorite iPod videos on your TV
• Play and charge your iPod with i1255
• Provides full control of your iPod with the included remote control
• Navigate your iPod videos or music on your TV screen with convenient OSD (On-Screen Display) specially designed for your iPod
• Capable of outputting your favorite videos or music from your iPod to your TV through S-Video or AV output
• Integrated dock for your iPod touch, iPod classic, iPod nano 3rd Gen. and iPod with video

Features for DVD Player
• Watch your favorite DVD videos on your TV through component video output and coaxial digital audio output
• Front tray type DVD mechanism
• Featured with convenient OSD (On-Screen Display)
• Multiple subtitle, angle, and audio functions
• Slow- and fast-motion playback and zoom operation
• Playable Media: DVD / VCD / MP3 CD / Audio CD / JPEG CD / Kodak Picture CD

When talking about compatibility, iLuv claims the i1255 is capable of working with the iPod touch, iPod classic, third-generation iPod nano, and fifth-generation iPod with video, and I guess this should be enough for most people, although adding iPhone 3G docking capability would also be a great idea, but that would require a new dock, so the price of the device would probably go higher...
