How To Put Music On An iPod

posted in Uncategorized, by BindApple

The simplest answer for this question is that you must use Apple iTunes. The first thing you need to do is to connect your iPod to your computer using the included USB cable then you have to install iTunes on your computer, you can do the installation in two ways: the first way is to installed from the CD that came with your iPod or, if you want to install the latest version you should go the apple.com/itunes and download it from there.

The next step if you want to put music on an iPod is to launch the iTunes application. Before you do that, you should look that you have the latest version of iTunes because the process will run better and faster. When you start iTunes you must have your iPod connected to your personal computer via USB 2.0. The program will recognize your iPod and a window with iPod Setup Assistant will open. You have the possibility to change your iPod’s name or to leave it with the default name. After the registration process is complete click on the Finish button and the iTunes application will open.

iTunes will show you all the music, videos and other media files (audiobooks, podcasts, TV shows and more) you can find and you can download from the Apple iTunes Store. Just below the Music Store (on the left of your screen) you will see the name of your device appearing as a button, this is your iPod and you should click on it if you want to put music on it. A window will open and you must click on the “Library” button to see if you have some music files copied into your iTunes library – if you don’t you can always import them from a CD or a DVD, just click the “Import” button when put the CD into your computer and select the songs you want to import into your iTunes library.

Now you can copy very easy your favorite music on your iPod, just drag and drop the songs you want onto the iPod’s icon (you will find it on the left side of the window). After the process is complete, you can eject the iPod from your computer and you can start to enjoy the music. To eject your iPod from your computer you must click the “Eject” button.

As you can see is not that hard to put music on an iPod and once you have installed iTunes, the job is done. The iTunes application gives you many possibilities: you can search the music you are looking for by the name of the artist, the name of the song, by gender and many more. If doesn’t matter what model of iPod you have, because the process is the same with all iPod models (iPod shuffle, iPod Classic, iPod Nano and iPod touch).
