How Do I Hook Up My MacBook To My HD TV

posted in MacBooks, Useful Info, accessories, by BindApple

As a part of restless multimedia performance, the MacBook was first introduced in May 2006, as the transition from the iBook and the PowerBook series of notebooks designed by Apple. It is aimed at the consumer and education markets and it is, by far, the most successful model ever sold by the Macintosh.

Part of the technological development, the MacBook becomes, by every model sold worldwide, the strong leader in the notebook's market competeing with strong names in the IT field such as Toshiba, Sony vaio models or HP models. And because technology means development and evolution, the MacBook series can be used in so many ways that it surprises you how handy it could be. Specially designed for the educational field, the MacBook notebook can show you pictures, videos, full-length movies or help you with the student career by facilitating the Internet access.

Reviews

Although Gizmodo concluded it to be "our favorite MacBook to date," they did claim that at the time its display was inferior to that found on the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, alleging a smaller viewing angle, washed-out colors, and dimmer backlighting. Similarly AppleInsider and Engadget concluded that it "may well be Apple's best MacBook to date" and "these are terrific choices—not only from an industrial design standpoint, but in specs as well" respectively, while also drawing attention to a lower quality display as compared with the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Other authorized reviewers reached to the same conclusion about its display and some others cited that "The absence of FireWire ports is certainly an inconvenience for some users. But it shouldn’t be considered a deal-breaker for most of us, anyway."

But what it also great about this new notebook is that you can connect it to different devices around the house in order to best fulfil your needs: connect it to music system to listen to music out loud all night long or even to your HDTV in order to enjoy the surround system quality and a wide screen for watching films.

In order to connect your MacBook to the TV, you will need a mini to VGA adapter and a VGA cable.

Mini DVI - something and another cable is the only way you're going to manage it.

If your tv has composite you can get one of these, but you still need composite cables.

If you have VGA, you can get one of these, but still need a VGA-VGA cable

If you have HDMI, you can get one of these, and there is a DVI-HDMI cable out there somewhere

HDMI is the most expensive, but will give you a better picture.

Also, if you want to connect your MacBook wireless to the HDTV in the living room, the best way to do so is by purchasing an Apple TV or Airport Express; the images and sounds will show in a high definition quality and it is the best way to enjoy your home cinema experience from the comfort of your sofa.
