So, a cookie (also called browser cookie or tracking cookie) is a small text or a small piece of text stored on your personal computer by the web browser you are using. Cookies are not malware, because they are not executable which means that they can’t multiply themselves and they are not spyware or computer viruses, but they can slow down your computer. Everyone has cookies on their computer, because everyone uses the Internet or receives files from the Internet.

If you are using a MacBook you can erase cookies in 3 different ways. The first one is to delete them using Safari; to do that you have to open Safari and to click on “Preferences” option. When the dialog box appears, look for an icon called “Security” and click on it. Then you will see a page opening and you have to go under the preferences called “Accept Cookies” and you have to select the option “Show Cookies”.
This action will show you all the cookies you have stored on your computer. You have to possibilities: you can delete all the cookies at once or you can select the ones you want to delete and leave the rest. To delete all the cookies in the list, click on the “Remove” option and select “Remove all”, if you want to remove one cookie at a time, you have to highlight the cookies you want and click on the “Remove” button.
After that you can click on the “Done” button, close the Preferences box and continue surfing on the web. This is for those of you who are using Safari as their Internet browser, but many of you use Firefox on their MacBook, so in the next line we will tell you how to erase cookies in Firefox.
The first step is to select the “Preferences” option and when the dialog box appears look for the icon called “Privacy” and click on it. Then you have to select the “Show Cookies” option which will show you all the cookies stored in your web browser. Deleting the cookies uses the same step in Firefox as in Safari, so if you want to delete all the cookies click on the “Remove all Cookies” option and if you want to delete individual cookies highlight them and click on the “Remove Cookies” option.
