Today, the time has come for Google Sync, and if you're not afraid of Google's "Beta" applications, read on! Just as a side note, I've been using Gmail for ages, and I find it to be more stable than at least a quarter of all "stable release" apps I have ever put my hands on. Now, let's leave these behind and see what's up with Google Sync, shall we?
According to the Official Google Mobile Blog, "a beta version of Google Sync for the iPhone and Windows Mobile phones as well as a contacts-only version for phones that support SyncML" is available to all those interested, so you can easily get your Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar events to your mobile.
Just read this, if you'we worried about the complexity of the sync operation - "Once you set up Sync on your phone, it will automatically begin synchronizing your address book and calendar in the background, over-the-air, so you can attend to other tasks. Sync uses push technology so any changes or additions to your calendar or contacts are reflected on your device in minutes. The connection is always on so you don't have to manually sync your phone after Sync has been set up. This means that when your colleague changes the time of the TPS report cover sheets meeting, you'll know about it right away." As easy as 1-2-3, if you ask me!
Now, all I can say is that I'm glad to see Google finally embracing the iPhone, despite the fact its Android initiative may go down the drain "thanks to the iPhone," if I can put it this way...
