CES Vs MacWorld

posted in news, by Codrut Nistor

As far as I can tell, MacWorld is dead. Next year's edition hasn't been cancelled just yet, but that doesn't make it less ridiculous. Why to say such a thing? Well, just think about a "BurgerWorld" expo without Burger King and McDonald's, and you will get your answer! Now, let's get to the point - CES vs MacWorld, or MacWorld vs CES, take it as you want it, it's exactly the same, after all...

According to Jason Oxman from the Consumer Electronics Association, in charge of CES' management, told CNET that they already "dedicated a special area at the 2010 CES to Apple-related CE manufacturers." I don't know about you, but to me, that's clear - the current CES vs MacWorld round ended up with the 1-0 score.

In an email, Oxman also said "We decided to create this special area based on discussions we've had with companies regarding 2010 show participation. We are pleased with the feedback we've received regarding this space."

Just think about this - MacWorld without Adobe and Apple, CES with a lot of interesting companies around, including a bunch belonging to the Apple world. If I would be in charge of MacWorld, I would announce that this year's edition is the last already, but I guess we should wait and see what happens next year.

Anyway, one thing is certain - MacWorld will never be the same again...
