Once at every few years, Apple Computer comes out on the market with products that evolve the trajectory of the based technology industry and amaze every single user. That's exactly what happened when they announced the release of the two wonder- products: iPhone and iPod Touch.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
On the date of September 5th, 2007 at Cupertino, in the state of California, they presented the iPod Touch, saying about it that is a next generation player .Being one of the most amazing and criticized PMP (portable media player) it have the commons typical features like audio and video playback, image viewing, supporting all kind of formats from the classic MP3 until the MPEG-4 and even the almost new Xvid type.

The iPod Touch is now on the 3rd generation, also known as 3G and differs from the 2nd generation, known as 2G, which is also available in the stores, because of its flash memory capacity and some new added functions. If 2G could stock only 8G of datas, now, the new 3G can be found in 2 models: 32 Giga or 64 giga.
compare-and-contrast-iphone-and-ipod-touch

Similar with the Apple's multi-touch track pad, the iPod Touch have a slim and light form, rounded edges and a rectangular shape. The Touch technology, developed by Finger Works, it is one of its principals features.

Under its Menu, you can find some applications, available for every  type of  Apple iPod : music, videos, photos, iTunes, Safari, Youtube, Calendar, Contacts, Clock, Calculator, and Settings . On the 3rd generation models was added also the Mail button and also the Maps, Stocks, Notes, and Weather, thanks to the upgraded software.

The Time magazine named the Apple's iPhone the invention of the year in 2007. Released on January 9, 2007, it was introduced on the United States, only in June 29, 2007, and  was upgraded to the 3rd generation, after 2 years, on 17 June, 2009.
compare-and-contrast-iphone-and-ipod-touch

Its touch screen is one of its important features. It is a liquid crystal display of 9 centimeters, which means a screen of 320×480 px at 6.3 px/mm.  Also, one of the most important qualities of this screen is that it has a scratch- resistant glass and can support up to 262,144 colors.

These kinds of displays are designed to respond to three sensors. The first one helps the user to save the battery, when he adds the iPhone near his face, to talk and make phone calls. The second one is an ambient light sensor, helping, just like the first one, for the battery saving. The 3rd one it is a A 3-axis accelerometer, projected to sense the phone's orientation and adjust images for a easy use and view.

Just like the Apple's iPod, the iPhone supports any kind of formats and have an e-mail function, web browsing, photo browsing and also, music browsing .

One of iPhone's important features is the incorporated Bluetooth 2.x+ EDR which can support its special wireless headphones.

Like the iPod, the iPhone has an integrated battery, not user replaceable and it is charging when it is connected to a computer or to an AC outlet. It can sustain up to 24 hours of music or 250 hours standby.

Following its iPod brother, it was first released with an 4 GB or 8 GB stock capacity, and, when it was upgraded to 3rd generation it could sustain up to 32 or 64 Giga bytes. Unfortunately, the iPhones have only a flash memory and don't support a memory card like a MicroSd, SM or Multimedia Card.

The Apple Company, incorporated in its iPhone, also, the operating system used on iPods, known as iPhone OS or OS X iPhone, derived from the MAC OS X. This system use one of the most used core set, Darwin, which is an open source, released at the beginning of 2000.

Some of the iPhone's  disadvantages it is that they don't support Java or Adobe Flash, but they announced that they will  release some substitutes of this programs, like Java Virtual Machine or Flash Lite.

There are  a lot of  similarities between iPod and iPhone but also, you can find some differences which makes the iPhones one of the properly choice of any type of users.

How Do I Free Up Memory On My Macbook?

No comments

posted in site news, by BindApple

New user or old user does not really matter. The Apple MacBook has its mysteries and surprises for all of us. For instance, I own a MacBook for two years now and I don't think I have discovered all that it's capable of. Or how to maintain it so that I won't have problems with it in the future. One problem I'm dealing with, and from what I have seen on tech forums others do to, is memory. How do we free up memory on our MacBook so that we won't have to keep a lot of useless data or programs we don't need anymore and keep its efficiency to maximum?
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Although Mac OS X is very good, it isn't infallible. People often tend to forget that heavy web pages or massive inboxes absorb free memory. If you are a rookie when it comes to using a MacBook and you don't know what to do with data you don't want anymore, just click the item you wish to delete and drag & drop it in Trash. When your Trash can is full and it's time for emptying it, click Finder and choose from menu "Empty Trash". Alternatively, you can do something rather simple like watching the Activity Monitor. There you can see how much free space you have, CPU activity etc. Anything that may appear excessive to you means that you might have a problem. Another option that is easy to do and doesn't take a lot of time is searching for Disk Utility, then clicking on Repair Disk Permissions. You can do that on a regular basis.

You should know that Mac OS X doesn't use a registry like Windows does, for example. All files related with the application are stored in the same folder as the application. The closest thing to a registry that Mac OS has is Preferences, which you should check and delete every Preference file related to an application you have previously deleted. It is very important to be careful not deleting any Preference file if you don't know the program they are related with. Go through your list of emails and delete the one that aren't important, clear Spam and Trash folder daily and clean our your browser cache regularly.

For older users, freeing up memory on MacBooks brings them a number of possibilities. Various programs can help you maintain you Mac. For example, you can use AppleJack for clearing out user cache and for finding corrupt preferences; AppZapper to get rid of application you don't use anymore or Onyx to keep your log files in order. Other options are DiskWarrior and Cocktail, but remember that these are paid applications.

If you have enough memory and you want to add more, you should know some basic things about installing and removing memory on a Mac. When adding memory, you need to know the memory specifications suited to your type of Mac. If you don't know them by heart, you can find them on Apple's homepage at Support section.

First, shut down you MacBook, then let its internal components cool down for about ten minutes. Disconnect every cord to prevent damaging you computer. Then turn your computer upside down and remove the eight screws securing the bottom case. Try to avoid touching the internal components and discharge the static electricity from your body by touching a metal surface inside. Remove the original memory by pushing the ejection levers on each side. Be careful not to touch the gold connectors. Tilt the new memory card and push it into the memory slot. Repeat the process to install the secondary memory and press. Both of them should be parallel to each other. Finally, replace the bottom case.

If you can't find the precise answer you need for how do we free up memory on our MacBook, you can always phone dial one of Apple's experts to give you assistance.

App Store is one of the useful inventions Apple ever created. It's not all about games. You can find so many applications under different categories such as Books, Entertainment, Educations, Weather, Utilities, Social Networking, Navigation, Music, and Medical, Finance, Productivity and many other more. The App Store is the marketing element used to merge the business department with iPod touch or iPhone, which at their core are only multimedia devices.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Although, customers and users of business applications use only the best products, which usually are the most expensive found on App Store, they might want to consider using the free versions. Either you choose a lite version (offered free) to see if that certain business application suites your demands, or you just need for a couple of days one certain application, you should always check the top free business applications on App Store before making any further purchases.

Today, September 28, 2009, on App Store you can find the next top three free business applications: the winner is the one and only "Job Search" (excellent in this unstable times - mandatory as a free application), on the second sport you get "Jobs" (an older search engine for jobs), and last but not least "ZIP Finder: Free ZIP code locator" (excellent if you live in large cities). The first application, "Job Search" was released on March 24, 2009 by Indeed. You can find it for free on App Store with the latest version 1.0.1. This is a pretty straightforward application, allowing you to have a good search engine for jobs directly on your iPod touch or iPhone. "Job Search" is easy to use, works fast, has a history log, and allows you to view the complete set of job search results. Also, after the searching process is finished, "Job Search" will underline the searched jobs from the database. Also for a better mobility, you can directly send yourself or to others an email with the job description.

The second application from the top three free business applications is "Jobs" released on July 09, 2008 by CareerBuilder.com. You can find this application on App Store under the Business category with the latest version 1.1. Just like the first application, "Jobs" allows you to search through the whole CareerBuilder.com database from you iPod touch or iPhone your perfect job. You can easily search for jobs by applying several filters, such as salary, keyword, or job description, and others. A nice feature in this application is the use of iPhone's geo-tagging function. Therefore, the search engine will look for jobs in your area.

The third application on our top three is "ZIP Finder: Free ZIP Code Locator" released on December 16, 2008, by Bottle Rocket. You can find it on App Store under the same Business category for free, with the latest version available for download 1.0.02. This application is more amazing than you might think. It easily retrieves the ZIP code based on your current location. You can also search for other ZIP codes anywhere in the United States. You can even find a location by using a ZIP code and Google Maps. Practically, you get an excellent locator when combining "ZIP Finder: Free ZIP Code Locator" with Google Maps. You can use this application to find out traffic information, or find out about new movie theaters.

A weird, but useful feature is the possibility of finding out about the crime rate in a specific ZIP code area. If you are an overprotective parent, then install "ZIP Finder: Free ZIP Code Locator" on your child's iPod touch or iPhone, and make him or her take a screen shot of the ZIP code him or her is in. there are so many implementations of this application in real life. You just have to downloaded it, install it, and have some educative fun. You should, however, know that ZIP Finder will use your geo location technology from your Apple device. You can make this work with Wi-Fi connection to, but the most accurate is the 3G connectivity.

Overall, "ZIP Finder: Free ZIP Code Locator" is an application that is worthy of your time (from searching it, download it, and install it). It offers many features, and delivers an exceptional result. All these three applications from the top three business applications work on iPod touch and iPhone running the second and third operating system from the iPhone mobile platform. You should check from time to time, the free applications available on App Store because some of them might just be what you are looking for (and their even free).

iPod Store

We all enjoy our applications from App Store, either business applications, Lifestyle applications, or games applications. Unfortunately, every one of them comes with a certain price. Some have a smaller price than others; some are more expensive because the developers created something unique.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Even so, if you always look for something new you are sure find it on App Store. But if you buy week by week new applications, how does your credit card feeling? Your credit card, probably feels empty, or even worse on a minus status. After more than one year after its launch, App Store proved itself very profitable for Apple and 3rd party application developers. Today, September 25, 2009, I am writing about top 3 free games on App Store. At number one, you have the "Vampire Live - 40 loyalty points" game, released on August 30 (2009), by Storm8 LLC. The game will put you in a vampire skin, a newborn vampire transformed by an old and malicious vampire. Your maker is trying to convince you to join his underground clan. This is an excellent story line, because it vividly describes how your character is feeling comfortable in the darkness, and in the surrounding mysterious night. Your mission is to reject your maker and start building your own reputation in the vampire line.

From a newborn vampire you will become a vampire lord. Your powers will increase as much as you increase your clan. The whole process is full of sub missions, like fighting the zombies to spread your terror through the city. An excellent feature provided is the multiplayer mode. You can join over 2 million players in the multiplayer mode. Storm8 LLC also provides you free of charge with the latest mission, abilities and other extras. The process of your transformation from a newborn vampire to a powerful creature includes better physical strength, abnormal abilities and a other transformations. The graphics are good, as good as you can ask from a free game, with excellent sounds to provide a better user experience. The game play is pretty straight forward. If you enjoy the continuous battle to become the greater player, then you will enjoy "Vampire Live - 40 loyalty points".

This game is strictly an online game. You don't get in game missions. You will join the vampire community online and launch your terror over the city. Tip: if you have friends with iPhones or iPod touch and they enjoy vampire games to, you should all create your own vampire clan, for a faster growth in the game. The second most downloaded free game on App Store (on September 25, 2009) is "Tight Wire Lite" released on August 24 this year by iBright LLC. This lite version will provide enough entertainment that will probably make you buy the full version. Your goal is to balance an overweight guy while he walks on a wire, and prevent him from falling and eventually prevent him from dying. The graphics are pretty good, which is only natural since this game is rather slow in action. You don't get controls. You have to balance the overweight guy by using only the accelerometer sensor found on your iPod touch or iPhone. The 3D environment is rather simpler, doesn't offer so many features. The animation is pretty good especially when the guy falls of the wire. In this version you get only 20 "missions". This game works with both second and third operating system for the iPhone platform.

The third place is occupied by "Word Scramble 2 by Zynga". Released on September 15, 2009 "Word Scramble 2 by Zynga" was developed by Zynga (go figure, like duh) and it is one of the most captivating word games found on App Store. Even more, "Word Scramble 2 by Zynga" is free. In this game sequel you can challenge who you might like. Play your best, get a high score, and then challenge your friends. Also the live feature is found on this game. It seems like a game community can really change a games market success. As you play and win you will unlock special features and even get trophies. Another interesting feature is that you can challenge your friends from your Face Book account. Also you can choose to play between a 5 by 5 board or a 4 by 4 board. If you enjoy work games, you will definitely enjoy this free game.

There are so many free games in top 3 everyday on App Store. I will continue to present from once in a while this top three, in order for you to see that on App Store you can find interesting games free of charge.

The New iPhone

No comments

posted in site news, by BindApple

On June 8, at the WWDC 2009 keynote, Apple delivered what iPhone fans were waiting for, the third - generation model of Apple's revolutionary device. The iPhone 3GS is the successor of the 2007 iPhone and the 2008 iPhone 3G. But the jump from the iPhone 3G to the 3GS is not that big as the jump from the first model to the 3G iPhone. Either way Apple promises that the iPhone 3GS is faster than the previous one. It also has an extended battery life, more memory and a few other features to make it a compelling upgrade for 3G users. Some of these new features are part of the new iPhone OS 3.0. The letter S from the iPhone 3GS stands for speed. In just three days, from the launch, 1 million iPhone 3GS were sold.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The 3GS looks just like an iPhone 3G. The same design and quality materials as the 3G model, gives a premium look to the iPhone 3GS. The 3GS model is available in white or black. The dimensions are identical to the 3G; the only difference is that the 3GS weights more than the 3G with 2g, making a total of 135 g. Its length is 115.5 mm, while the width is 62.1 mm and the height 12.3 mm.

US-APPLE-REPORTS

On the front of the 3GS we have the home screen button located under the 3.5" display. On the left side there are the volume control buttons and the silent mode button. The 3.5 mm jack and the on / off button are on the top of the phone, while on the bottom we have the dock connector, the speaker and microphone. The back of the iPhone 3GS is optical identical to the 3G model, the only difference is that instead of a 2 MP digital camera the 3GS has a 3.2 MP camera (no flash). The battery is better than the previous one (20% more power). The autonomy has grown from 10 hours to 12 hours in the 2G Network and from 24 hours to 30 hours for music. The video playback time has also grown from 7 hours to 10 hours, while the stand by values remains identical to the values from the 3G.

The iPhone 3GS comes with the new iPhone OS 3.0. The 3.0 brought to the iPhone and iPod Touch a lot of new features like the highly anticipated "copy & paste". Unfortunately the 3GS still lack the possibility of multitasking (hopefully the 4.0 will fix this problem). Other excellent feature from the 3.0 is the search engine, Spotlight. You can use this engine to find contacts, music, applications, emails, calendar events, notes, videos and even podcasts. The search speed is really good (beats the search speed of Nokia phones with S60). Other features are exclusively for the 3GS model such as Voice Control (not just for voice dialing and basic commands, you can use voice to identify a song by name and you can ask to play related tracks), Interface Zoom and White - on - Black color combo.

the-new-iphone-23

The 3GS has the same display from the iPhone 3G. It's a 3.5" touch screen with 320 x 480 resolution and 16 million colors. The sound quality on calls is excellent. Even in places where the network coverage is not that good the quality sound on calls is flawless. You can add so many details to any contact from the phonebook (many phone numbers, addresses, email, birthday and other). Thanks to the 3.0 you can now send multimedia messages (but you have to configure it manually). Multimedia is very important for the iPhone line. Apple's experience in iPod production really pays off. The lack of stereo speakers is a disadvantage, but keep in mind that this is just a policy, so that the iPhone user would buy additional speakers. The iPod feature from the iPhone is genius. The sound is loud and clear, the bass is incredible. With the 3GS you can listen to music using Bluetooth stereo handset. The video player is the same; the only difference is the improved speed when you open a movie or a music video. If you are choosing your 3GS by the storage capacity, then you should know that there is a 16 GB model and a 32 GB model. The iPhone 3GS doesn't have radio. If you want to listen to the radio from your 3GS you have to use the internet. The new 3.2 MP digital camera is still not enough for a high - end phone. Apple should have included a 5 MP digital camera rather than a 3.2 MP camera. Most of the smartphones on the market have 5 to 8 MP cameras with flash or xenon. The video recording is made at VGA resolution (640 x 480) with 30 frames per second.

the-new-iphone-22

The movie clips are saved in the .mov format. In the connectivity department you get GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSDPA and WiFi. The email client syncs with Mobile Me or Microsoft Exchange 2007. The new iPhone generation comes not just with better software features, but also with a faster processor and a larger random access memory. If you don't mind the lack of multitasking, the iPhone 3GS will not let you down.
