Gestures On MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro is one of the laptop models from Apple which can be found whit 13-inch display, 15-inch display and 17 – inch display. You can choose from different processor types, storage capacity and memory and if you don’t like the configurations Apple has made for you, you have the possibility to configure your own MacBook Pro with the technical specification you want.

The trackpad is not a simple one, because is a Multi-Touch trackpd which gives its users the possibility to many gestures on it.  The trackpad is made form wear resistant glass and it doesn’t have any buttons, because it is the button, so you can click it anywhere on its surface. The material is also touch-friendly and smooth, so you can make the gestures you want easy and fast.

The MacBook Pro trackpad gives you more space to click and to track, because is bigger than average trackpads from other computers. Actually, this is the smartest and the largest trackpad you will find on the market and we don’t have to forget about the design, because it looks great.

The trackpad allows its users to make gestures like: rotate, pinch or swipe and many more. The best thing about it, as we said above, is the fact that you can click anywhere and you have a lot of space to make the gesture you need.

This trackpad is very easy to use, for example, if you want to scroll all you have to do is to place two fingers on it and slide them around the surface. You can scroll up and down a page in a very easy and fast way. If you have Leopard as a operating system you can even make diagonal scrolling – to do that you have go in System Preferences, click on the Keyboard and Mouse option and choose Trackpad. Every gesture is better and can be done faster than with other trackpads and it is also very responsive to your each gesture.

If you want to zoom in and out to have to make a pinch gesture. The name of the gesture is self explanatory, to zoom in you have to expand two fingers on the trackpad and zoom out to have to pinch.

The swipe gesture is used to slide between images or you can flip through the photo library and you have to use 3 fingers. And if you use 4 fingers you can switch between applications, you can view all the open windows you have or you can view your desktop.

The gestures on MacBook Pro are amazing and if you are used with right-click you can do that by configuring a right-click area on your trackpad or you can right-click just by using two fingers.

You can also use your fingertips to rotate an image, you can click and drag and more, because the Multi-touch trackpad for Apple is amaizing. To find more about the gestures on MacBook Pro check out Apple Store or the manual for MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro Keyboard Is Not Working

MacBook Pro is a great laptop with many great features, but sometimes there is trouble in paradise, meaning that even MacBook can have some problems. One of the problems MacBook Pro has is the fact that its keyboard doesn’t respond from time to time.

We are sure that many of you had at least once this kind of problem with their MacBook Pro and you find yourselves in the situation when the trackpad works just fine, but the keyboard is not working. The simplest solution to this problem is to restart the laptop and it works most of the time, because the problem is not the keyboard itself it the whole laptop, maybe the operating system has a problem or maybe a new software or application just installed make your MacBook Pro keyboard non-functional.

This isn’t just a MacBook problem, many computers have it and many times it is about the operating system or new software installed. If your keyboard responds after you restarted your computer, this could be the case we are talking about, but if the keyboard randomly stops responding and then starts to work like nothing happened, you should call AppleCare because it could be a bigger problem.

If your keyboard is unresponsive and after you restarted your MacBook Pro works just fine, try to download the latest software available for your operating system including keyboard update and see if the software just installed makes your keyboard work. If you can’t work with your trackpad try a USB keyboard or a wireless keyboard.

If your keyboard still doesn’t work after the restart and after the update, you should try to take out the battery of your MacBook Pro. You shouldn’t to this if your computer still has warranty, because you will lose it, but if it doesn’t have you can try to take out the battery all by yourself. We are saying this, because we found a forum online (check out Ibarclay.wordpress.com) where a MacBook user said that he found out the solution to its unresponsive MacBook Pro keyboard by removing the battery and seeing that the brown/darker orange cable was the one causing all the problems. The cable became warped because it had heated up to much and when the cable was pressed down the keyboard worked perfectly.

If you see this problem you should go to an authorized service to fix the cable, but if you need a temporary fix you should try to get a small piece of Scotch tape or any sticky tape and try to put the cable back into its place by rolling it up with the tape. After you did that, see if the keyboard is working by pressing the Caps Lock key.

If the keyboard is working put the battery back so that it presses on the ribbon cable and the sticky or the Scotch tape. In case you don’t want to mess around with your MacBooks Pro battery then you should take it to a service or try to press hard on the Caps Lock key and see if the keyboard works after that. We hope that this article will help you find the solution if your MacBook Pro keyboard is not working.

I Always Leave My MacBook Pro On

PCs and laptops are made to work 24/7, but if you always leave your computer on there are some things you should know. If you work a lot of time on your MacBook Pro, even if it is day or night, it normal to leave it plugged in all the time. It is important to see the difference between leaving a laptop on and putting it to sleep or in stand by.

If you leave your computer on for a long period of time and you are not working on it, the display will finally turn off after a preset period of time, but your computer’s hard drive will continue to work, this happens for example when you want to download something from the Internet and you leave the computer to do it without working on it. The display of your laptop will turn off (to save some energy), but the Internet connection will be available and your hard drive will continue to work because your computer is downloading something.  There isn’t any problem if you keep your MacBook Pro on all the time, but it is important what your computer is doing in the mean time, because if it is overheating over and over again this could mean trouble.

The things you should know are that your MacBook Pro is using a lot of electricity if you always leave it on and you should keep all the vents clear and don’t run all day CPU intensive task, because they could overheat your laptop.  An option could be to put your laptop to sleep, this doesn’t mean shut down, because when a computer in on the sleep mode all the applications, the hard drive, the CPU are in stand by mode, which means that they are not turned off and they are waiting for your command.

If you don’t use your laptop over night, you should keep it in sleep mode because the computer will use less electricity and if you need to do something very fast on your computer, all you have to do is to press a button and the computer will be awakened and will wait for your command.

Also if your computer has the hibernate option, you can put it in to hibernate mode, because it is better than just to keep it on. The hibernating mode is faster than a normal boot and you will have all the data saved the way you left it. If you want your laptop’s battery to work well, you should let it run out completely once a month and this means that you have to unplug your computer. And when you want to charge it, you should turn it off, because if you charge it while you are using it will take a longer time to charge and your computer will keep emitting heat. Overall, it is all right to leave your MacBook Pro or any Mac on all the time, but at least once a month you should let the battery run out completely and turn it off for just one night.
