The iPod Touch is a portable music player, personal digital assistant (PDA) and wi-fi mobile platform designed and marketed by the Apple company. It was first introduced to the market on September 5, 2007 and it is the first iPod with wireless access to the iTunes Store, having also access to Apple's App Store, where you can download specific applications directly onto your iPod. But I'm sure you already knew that.

The iPod Touch is a very popular gadget across the Globe and you can find it in the hands of junior class kids, as well as in the hands of business people who like to have a moment of relaxation and listen to their favorite songs. And I'm sure that Apple company doesn't have anything against the device being used by little children, since the iTouch first generation only was sold in 20 million copies as from September 2009.

Still, in rough lines, the iPod Touch is very much similar to an iPhone, as well as to the newest gadget designed by Apple, the iPad. The Touch and the iPhone use the same Operational System and have almost the same design. They both use the full touchscreen technology and are suitable for almost same applications. Sure, the first generation of iPod Touch lacks some features and associated applications, that will justify the presence of the iPhones into the stores. It lacks the access to cellular networks, as well as a built-in camera, microphone or speakers, becoming much slimmer and lighter than the iPhone. But don't worry about that- following generations of iPods Touch solve those problems too, making the two devices almost unrecognizable one from another if viewed from the front.

But for those of you who like to keep things classic, as well as for those who don't pay large amounts of money every single time the Apple company releases a new model or version on the market, the first generation of iPods Touch may be the best alternative. Sure, it lacks some features of the following generations, but it's still the same product, and with a storage capacity of 8GB, there will be enough space for your photos, games, movies and videos watched at a high definition resolution. And with all these available features, how can one not love his iPod? So, show some real love to your Apple device and buy it a hard case that will protect it from daily scratches and more others. At uxsight.com you will find a wonderful baby-phat case, specially designed for the first generation of iPods Touch and for those of you who cannot live without fashion brands. The iPod Touch Plastic Case features a play-through design which enables total access to all of the iPod touch control buttons and it will only cost you around $4.

Price iPod Mini Malaysia

The iPod mini is a division of the iPod line designed and marketed by Apple Inc and it is a digital audio player. It was announced on January 6 2004 and was released at the end of February, same year. The first generation of iPod mini featured a smaller design and it was available in 5 vibrant colors. In this device was also incorporated the "clicking wheel" technology and it was marketed in the only version of 4GB. A second generation of iPods mini was released on the market at the end of February, 2005. It was available in the 4GB and 6GB storage capacity versions, and it also included brighter color variants, of pink, silver, blue and green. Far improved from the first version, was the battery life which went up from 8 hours of audio playing to 18 hours of audio playing for the second generation of minis. Both generations were almost identical, the only differences being made at the battery life and storage capacity. Also, due to its unpopularity, the golden version for the second generation was discontinued.

However, it seems that this type of iPods were only the beta version of the following released products, as they were replaced soon after by the iPod Nano generations. The Nanos were even smaller and were first introduced at the end of 2005. They were also the first iPods to use flash memory, and with a 2.2 inch diagonal and the ultra slim and small design, the success was close. Since its introduction on the market, the iPod Nano line went through 5 generations and each generation was even better. The current fifth generation of the Nano was released in September 2009 and it is the first iPod product ever to have a video camera enclosed. Latest version also features a FM radio, a larger screen, video recording, a microphone for audible memos, and some pretty cool effects available for its camera. The price is rated somewhere between $149 for the 8GB version and around $179 for the 16GB version. It also includes Live Pause, a built-in pedometer, Nike + iPod Support and speaker.

Also, the fifth generation of iPods is available in 9 colors, including Silver, Black, Purple, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Product Red, Green and Pink. As you might have been used from the forth generation of nanos, the Product Red and Yellow Nanos are only available for purchase on the Apple online store as well as on Apple Retail store.

Even though prices should be almost the same in all countries, it appears that unlike other countries as Japan, or Singapore, Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur lacks iPods. The real problem seems to be the price, as iPods are sold here at markups of 30-40% over their US figures. Yes, the country is modernizing and is filled with impressive architecture, but average people don’t live in these towers, and their incomes can’t easily afford purchasing iPods. Under these circumstances, how many would actually pay a price of almost $250 for an unnecessary product, such as an iPod mini/Nano?

When the iPod line was first released in 2001, Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, had a tough to almost impossible mission: to transform a product for which people lacked interest into a known product across the globe. The market itself was not a very good one, as people didn't think they actually needed a portable music player, not to mention one that wasn't cheap at all. Still, critics were disappointed to find out that not only the device was recieved well by the buyers, but also the entire market of portable music devices bloomed and reached its peak in 2007-2008.

Ipods are the best way to keep your constantly agitated kids still for a while, but are suitable for all ages of people, all over the world. Due to its convenient size, you can take these devices at work or school, or anywhere you want. Also, as mentioned before, they are great for kids if you are going on vacation and have a long trip in front of you, as they will keep them focused for a while.

The iPod mini generation was first introduced to the public on January 6, 2004. The new, smaller model of the iPod line was available in 5 colors and it had a total storage capacity of 4GB. A second generation of iPods mini came out also, by the end of February 2005. The second generation was available in brighter colors with a longer battery life, not to mention that the clicking wheel lettering matched the body color of the iPod. It was sold in 4GB and 6GB variants but was later discontinued and replaced with the iPod Nano. Now, the iPod Nano line was revealed to customers on September 7 2005. People were actually enthusiastic about it as it was even smaller in dimensions than the previous Mini, it was available in black or white and used the flash memory. It also used a colored screen which was perfect for viewing pictures or videos. First version of Nano was available in 1, 2 and 4GB. Following generations were released once a year by the Apple company and included many other cool features. The latest version, the fifth one was released in 2009 and it was the first iPod ever to include a video camera. It also featured a larger screen, 8 and 16 GB storage capacities, FM radio, a speaker and some pretty cool case colors.

Below you can find a list of several online stores from which you can still purchase an iPod mini or a version of the Nano, at affordable prices:

2nd Generation iPod Touch Reviews

When Steve Jobs initially introduced the iPod, in 2001, he had the tricky job to turn a product from an unwanted one to a highly desired and used multimedia device. So, from the single portable music player, the iPod evolved into different generations and versions, from the Classic to Shuffle, Mini, Nano and the latest iPod Touch.

The Touch was first released on the market in 2007, and eversince then, it was upgraded twice, to the second generation starting September 9 2008 and to the third one, starting September 9, 2009. All in all, the iPod Touch is a very complex means of communication and you can rely on it whether you actually want to listen to your favorite music songs, or you want to play games, watch high definition videos and movies, or you want to surf the Internet.

As of September 2009, the Apple Inc announced it sold over 20 million units from the iPod Touch device, certainly making it a very fashionable and needed gizmo.

And if it's one thing that is sure as the day of tomorrow, is that, once a year, the Apple company revises its line of iPods, introducing to the market new generations of already existing products, with improved features, different shapes, designs and colors, anything to attract new clients and buyers. So, it came as no surprise that on September 9, 2009, at the "Let's rock" keynote presentation was first presented the second generation of iPods Touch, featuring external volume controls, built-in speaker, built-in Nike+, Bluetooth support, as well as with the ability of connecting a microphone. With its sleek design and touch-sensitive interface, seconding a PDA, the 2nd generation of Touch has, among billions of other functions, also the one of playing music.
Priced at $229 (8GB), $299 for the 16GB version, and $399 for the 64 one, the second generation iPod Touch still commands a fairly high price by comparison with other MP3 players with similar storage capacities. When you weigh the price of the iPod Touch against its features, however, the device becomes much more attractive. Not to mention all of your friends that already bought one! Some pros for this new gadget are the fact that it includes a web browser and wi-fi, also having a beautiful design. Bottom line is that, while still being an expensive gadget, the iPod Touch remains the class of the field, with tons of useful applications that will certainly keep you out from boredom for the entire day.

Apple iPad iPod Touch Compare

The newest released product on the market versus the newest version of the iPod Touch. Ipad versus iPod Touch. Which one is better? Well, it really depends on what are you looking for. The iPod Touch was specially and primarily designed to be a multimedia product, a portable music player, while the iPad claimed it is the new generation of notebooks. Honestly speaking, I don't see too much of a difference between those two and many others agree with my opinion. Why? Because, in rough lines, both products follow the same pattern: a multimedia device that will satisfy a limited range of needs, such as a music player, high speed Internet browser, a browser for videos and movies watched in high quality and so on. But, unlike the iPad, the latest generation of the Apple iPod Touch also includes a camera. So, you cannot only see your favorite pictures, but also take some others; not to mention the fact that the Touch is far smaller so, easier to carry.

In terms of technical specifications, the Touch has a 4.3 inches height and it weights only 115 grams, five times lighter than the iPad. Still, the iPad was designed more as a tablet with the specifications of a notebook, which features a full-size touch screen and some other really cool applications. Ipod's display is around 3.5 inch diagonal and it is a widescreen Multi-touch screen, such as the iPad's, only that the last one has a 9.5 inch diagonal ED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology. In terms of storage capacity, both items looks the same, and they can be purchased in the 16GB version, the 32GB one, or the 64GB version.

But it is he new iPad just an “iPod touch XL” or does it have real benefits over the current iPod Touch? People claim that they are pretty much the same product,  very similar also the iPhone, so there isn't really much of a technological progress or hi-tech development in it. Still, loads of folks will go craving after the iPad, even only in hypothetical way. The unanswered remain question is if whether we really need a third device that will feel the gap between smartphones (already released iPhone) and notebooks (such as iMacs, Airbooks and so on). Steve Jobs claims that this gizmo is better than a smartphone, a laptop or an iPod Touch in terms of applications such as email, photos, videos, music, games, and ebooks - all this just to justify the urge to release a new product, all "revolutionary". Where's the real multitasking that might set this apart? Where's the Flash support or at least a decent USB that will make a difference between this products? We all hope for a second version of the iPad, as well as a even more performant one of the Touch.
