We could say that the iOS is the Mac OS's little brother, because although one is intended for smaller devices, and one for Machintosh based computers, the iOS is based on the Mac OS operating system, which has also been developed by Apple.

One in a while, Apple releases a major update to its iOS ( with the form x.0), commonly at the same time with an iPhone model. In 2008, the iOS 3.0 version came out alongside the new iPhone 3G. Although the changes from the previous iPhone weren't huge, Apple made sure that the iOS 3.0 will have plenty of fresh features and applications. Apple stated that this version of their operating system has over 100 new features and applications, including the long-awaited Cut and Paste feature, which lets you summon a dialog bubble with cut and paste options by double-tapping the screen, and pasting it somewhere else. This feature also functions across applications and with photos. The iOS 3.0 gives you support for new calendar types. You can subscribe to calendars on the Internet using the Google and Yahoo supported CalDAV protocol, or via the .ics format which Apple normally uses its iCal.
The improved Stocks application lets you read news about the latest market scandal, the latest stock crashes, and bonus fees granted to people who lead their company to bankrupcy. The iPhone OS 3.0 updates lets you connect a Bluetooth pair of headphones or a microphone to your iPhone, because it now supports Stereo A2DP Bluetooth. The Notes applications is getting more complex, as it can now be synced with iTunes. But anyone will need Note syncing anyway. The Safari version on the iOS 3.0 will remember your credentials and there is no need to introduce them every time you want to check something out on the web. This new Safari is also able to warn you when accessing websites that try to scam you. The iPod applications was also improved, as it now requires a simple shake to activate its shuffle mode. An ON and OFF option for this feature is required because some people intend to practice sports while listening to music.

In case you have a subscription to a paid hotspot, your iPhone will auto login to it. Before the 3.0 update, the iPhone was able to filter adult content only from music and websites, but can now filter movies, TV shows, and even applications. The range of widgets was also increased, as the new operating system update support voice memos, which allow you to record whatever you sound like, and post it on your main screen, just to be sure you don't forget something.
