One of the downsides of this device is its memory. I am aware of the fact that Apple iPad comes in various models and you have the possibility to choose different amounts of memory when you buy an iPad and these range from 16, 32 and 64 GB of memory. Some think this is more than enough for the applications that you can use on this device, but if it's meant to be an eventual replacement for your laptop, it will be simple not enough. I am speaking from my point of view, of course, because I tend to gather all the stuff I need in one place and do not trust removable storage devices like CDs or DVDs because they are very likely to suffer accidents and I can end up losing all my data.

Any way, the Apple iPad memory seems to be enough for those who bought it and even if they would love to add some more, this is not possible. I can understand that, too, because if these guys from Apple would do everything the users wish and not what's best for Apple, they would lose lots of money. Let me explain this a bit. Many people wanted to know if Apple iPad memory was upgradable. Do you know why? It's not because they all wanted to buy the 64 GB memory iPad and this was not enough for them, but it was because they wanted to spend the least amount of money for purchasing the 16 GB model and then upgrade it to 64 with only a few bucks. Considering the fact that the difference of price between these two models is at least 200 dollars, you figure out for yourselves the loss for Apple.

Any way, my guess is that Apple guys will never allow users to upgrade Apple iPad memory because first this is not a video storage device and if you are using the iPad only for what it was meant you don't need that much space and second because they invented every device for a purpose and if they allowed the iPad for example to do all the things the other devices do, it would mean to send other devices, also produced by Apple, to extinction. So if you want lots of memory that you can expand you simply by a Macbook.
