Apple 3G Lawsuits Update

posted in news, by Codrut Nistor

If you're living in the US, then you should feel lucky. The reason is simple - lawsuits against a company like Apple have a lot of chances to succeed, as long as you're not going to sue them because your iPhone doesn't work after you used it as a target, after buying a Desert Eagle... and when I say "3G lawsuit," things are clear - it happened before, it happens as we speak, and it's going to happen again - most chances are that angry iPhone users will win.
Apple 3G Lawsuits

Just look at this - Apple got sued four times in just two weeks because of the old 3G performance problems, as well as hairline cracks in the casing!

Last week, for example, a 14-page complaint from Jason Medway said "Despite knowledge that the iPhone 3G cannot maintain consistent 3G service, defendant continues to solicit new orders in a multimillion-dollar television and print advertising campaign for the iPhone 3G. Apple simply replicated the problems by providing consumers with replacement phones and thus subject to the same issues which prompted the replacements."

While that was happening in California, now Florida residents Onel Gonzalez and Ron J. Brayteson filed a 24-page complaint, demanding statutory, compensatory, as well as punitive damages (plus interest!) because Apple is "continuing to disseminate false and misleading advertising."

At the same time, Timothy Ritchie, located in New Jersey, filed his own 23-pages complaint, basically with the same demands as Gonzalez and Brayteson.

Tough times, Apple, heh? Well, a birdie told me the next-gen iPhone should arrive this summer, and maybe that one will set things right, once and for all. Until then, we'll surely see some more 3G lawsuits, but that's life - if you can sue them and get their money, why not do it?

I am on my second 3g Iphone under warranty - which cost me 31 dollars and a 399 dollar hold on my credit card untill apple gets the broke one back... why do I hv to pay 31 dollard for a REFURBED IPHONE... hmmm I am paying 4 the Fedex shipping fees.... now this iphone is going back to apple due to more problems,, I asked for a refund, and I was turned down - but they will send a BRAND NEW IPHONE - with no charges but they need the credit card numbers etc so they could hit me up for 399-usd If I did not send the broke one back... I understand that - no problem - just get a receipt from Fedex that U did drop it off to them.. then apple says U R OFF THE HOOK THEN... I am on my 5th iPhone 3G. Is anyone else having issues with the battery heating up to the point of not being able to touch it and also a battery that might last 4-5 calls which are approx 3-4 mins long before the battery go into the red and needing a recharge. I was told to do a hard start on the phone and this does not correct the problem but does seem to extend the battery a slight bit without the heat up. Now get this. AT&T claims there is nothing they can do about the issue but you are locked into a contract with them for the usage of the phone which the iPhone with it's issues limits you on usage? I used to have T-Mobile with 1600 mins and 250 texts for less then this phone that I cant use more then 200-300 mins without issues. Now I'm not sure about a lemon clause but Apple seems to correct the problem with referbished phones. What happened to my New Phone or did I just pay for a lease on a referbed phone? I'd love to hear from others on this and if anyone has filed a lawsuit claiming the same issues please drop me a message
Thanks
Unhappy iPhone 3G jipped customer
