The story goes like this - according to a statement from America Movil, currently the largest mobile corporation in Latin America, the iPhone will arrive in Mexico and other countries in the region "later this year." America Movil is a Fortune 500 company with over 152 million wireless subscribers in 16 countries, mainly located throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Unfortunately, America Movil's announcement made Wednesday didn't say anything about iPhone's time of arrival in the area, subscription plans, or if the mobile will also be available unlocked.
These being said, the mystery is still present, but my guess is that, by mid-July, all countries where similar announcements have been made so far, should have the 3G iPhone available. Mark my words, and we'll see 2 months from now if I was right or not!
