With this iPhone, Apple promised the fastest and the most powerful iPhone on the market. So let's meet  some of the iPhone 3GS features.



Speed

Guess what "S" stands for? Yes, that's right; "S" stands for speed! According to Apple, the first thing you'll notice about iPhone 3GS is how fast it's applications will launch. Web rendering will happen in a fraction of time and you can view your email attachments much faster. The iPhone 3GS has a built-in processor which is two times faster than the previous generations and it's more responsive than iPhone 3G. Although it's much more faster than the previous models, it consumes less which has an impact on the improved battery life.

Camera

This is one of the strong points of iPhone 3GS. With an increased resolution 3-megapixels auto focus camera (30 frames per second VGA), your shots will have a much better quality under any condition. With a tap, your shots will be saved in Camera Roll. From there, you can see your pictures in landscape or zoom them in or out with a pinch or a double-tap. The camera also supports photo and video geo tagging.You can tap the iPhone display to focus on anything (or anyone) you want, although the auto focus alone does a very good job. If you want to share your photos or videos, you can trim the video/photo shot just using you finger, then send them via MMS, email, MobileMe or Youtube. iPhone 3GS uses iTunes to sync photos you have on a Mac or in Adobe Photoshop Album on a PC, so that you can have them with you anywhere you go.

Cut, copy, and paste

It seems that everything about iPhone 3GS can be done with tapping. For example, you can easily cut and copy words, content from the web, multiple photos or videos and paste them into an email or text message and if you make a mistake, just shake you iPhone to undo.



Voice control

Now you can talk with your iPhone using voice control feature. You can ask it what song is playing and hear it answer. Or call people. Simply say a name or a phone number and your iPhone will confirm what you have requested and dial away.



Compass

iPhone 3GS has a magnetometer working with a Compass application. You can find locations, get directions, see traffic or which way you're facing and even, change your view.

Graphics

The new iPhone 3GS includes 3D graphics support in hardware. With the same 3.5-inch widescreen multi touch display, but now having a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, you'll have faster and more complicated 3D games.

Find your iPhone and Remote wipe

Lost your iPhone? No problem, just log on the Apple's MobileMe service and it will help you find it. You'll have a map that shows the approximate location of your iPhone. Have it play an alert sound to help you find it if it's close to you. If not, you can display a custom message, lock it with a password or initiate a remote wipe and restore it to factory settings.



Nike + iPod

Everybody likes to work out. iPhone includes a built-in Nike + iPod support, so now you can buy a Nike + iPod sensor, slip it in one of your shoes and go do your workout.

Internet tethering

Surf the Internet from anywhere. You don't need a Wi-Fi hotspot anymore as long as you have Internet tethering on your iPhone. You can share the 3G connections with your Mac or PC laptop and connect to the Internet. Moreover, although you have your iPhone tethered, you can still make and receive phone calls. Also you can still connect to the Internet through a USB cable or a wireless network.


Although it has the same design and size, the new iPhone 3GS features are practically insane. In addition to all of the above, iPhone 3GS lets you capture your thoughts, memos, or meetings with the Voice memo feature, see charts and financial details of your stocks with the Stocks application or watch Youtube videos wherever you go. The iPhone 3GS gives you everything you need and more. Phone, iPod and Internet all combined in one.

The iPod mini was designed by Apple Inc and it was the midrange model.The digital audio player was announced on January 6,2004 and a second generation version was intimated in 2005, on February 23.  iPod mini uses the click wheel.There are four buttons located above the wheel.The click wheel is designed for Apple by Synaptics(a touchpad original equipment manufacturer).

First model has 4 GB capacity and rated battery life of 8 hours. It is availaible in 5 colors: silver, blue, green, pink, gold. The connection can be done with USB or FireWire.Minimum OS to sync: Mac: 10.1.5, Windows:2000.It is small and introduced the "Click Wheel".

Second generation is represented by a iPod with longer battery life(audio: 18 hours). The capacity is 4 GB but is available also in 6 GB version, connection USB or FireWire.Brighter color variants, Click Wheel lettering matched body color.

The main differences between those two generations of iPod Mini is battery capacities and the storage.Both versions have 102 grams weigh. Second version wasn't available any more in gold because it was not so popular.

There is a small difference with button labels: for the first generation was grey and the second had button labels matching the case's color.

The iPod Mini uses Microdrive hard drives (CompactFlash II) and it is capable of storing 1,000 and 1,500 songs.

Because in the first generation there was a problem with battery life, Apple addressed the problem in the second version. So, there was an improvement and for the second generation models battery life rised up to 18 hours. It also had a headphone jack, a hold switch. The iPod Mini is compatible for WAV, AIFF,AAC/M4A, MP3, and Apple Lossless audio formats.

Replacement batteries was available because the capacity of batteries decreases over time.If people decide to send their iPod back o Apple for replacement batteries, they have to pay a lot of money because the charge is very expensive. But there is another solution- they can find on the internet many manuals for battery replacement and a lot of outlets selling compatible Lithium-ion batteries.  Many of them are of higher capacity than the originals.

The iPod Mini can run iPodLinux or Rockbox firmware. It allows music  to be played directly on the iPod and it is not necessary to use iTunes any more . There can be replaced the 4 or 6 GB Microdrive with a higher one with capacity 8, 16, and even 32 GB cards. The fact that  the capacity has increased was an advantage and a reason why battery life also increased.

Everybody knows that  iPod is considered to be one of the best portable audio players.

The first generation has an intelligent design. You can hold and listen 1000 songs from it because Its hard drive holds about 74 hours' worth of music . For $250, the iPod Mini (in multiple colors) can be yours!

It has an excellent playlist features, a very good sound; organizes contact, smooth syncing.It also includes games.The bad thing is that there is no FM radio or recording capabilities. Its volume is smaller than players which use Hitachi's 4GB 1-inch hard drive. At 3.6 ounces you barely feel it in the pocket. You can add Belkin Voice recorder and flash adapter. From the main menu you can access playback features.You can browse by artists, album, playlist,composer, genre, song.You can really create a new playlist even if you don't have a computer; all that you need is On The Go function.

You can rate a song on a scale of 1 to 5 while it is playing because of a playlist function.Library syncing is the smartest ever and iTunes starts up and automatically syncs your music collection when you plug in the Mini.

If you use iTunes, you can also create MP3 and AAC files from your CDs. The iPod Mini handles AAC files like MP3 files,.There is a difference : AAC sounds much better even for the same bit rate.  You can now purchase it  from the iTunes Music Store.

It also has an alarm clock which can be your favorite song. You can choose a song through a home stereo and be ready to start the day with it.It includes three games: Parachute, Solitaire and Brick. You can test your knowledge about music with Music Quiz.There is also a contacts list and a calendar which dub with Outlook.You can connect your iPod to your computer and play tunes from its hard drive or you can read text memos from a special area.

You can copy MP3 files from the mini to a computer's hard drive in Windows and share music between multiple computers. You have an impressive sound quality because the electronics responsible for sound reproduction from mini are identical to those from iPod . Because of a 32 MB flash buffer, mini has an antiskip protection of 25 minutes.There was an experiment which proves that it is no skipping during testing.

Attractive, nice and very small, iPod Mini overreach everybody: youth, athletic people, business men, high flown ladies. It is a cool and useful gadget . It is one of the most important inventions from Apple.

As expected Apple decided to refresh this autumn its iMac computers, the MacBook, the Mac mini, and to release or refresh a few other products including the Time Capsule - TB, the Apple Remote and the Apple Magic Mouse. The new MacBook is certainly familiar in design and hardware with the old one. However, it still sports important differences, such as the unibody case, better processor, faster (because of the DDR3 memory), and with a built in 7 hour battery. At a first glance, it would be almost impossible to spot a difference between them.

Even so, when you take a closer look you will see how excellent the design of the new MacBook is. Basically you get the same shape (or form factor) like the MacBook Pro aluminum unibody 13 inches. There are no straight angles, no sharp edges. Certainly the new MacBook was redesigned to provide the best computer experience possible. The lid is made out of glossy white plastic. You can easily imagine how easy it is to get scratches on this laptop, or fingerprints. Between fingerprints and scratches, I believe scratches are more unpleasant, since the glossy white plastic will cover the fingerprints pretty good when not under direct sunlight. However the sides of this laptop are made out of a matte plastic, which feels very nice at touch, and looks like it is designed for the MacBook. Inside, you get a certain shock.


Instead of getting a patterned surface, Apple added the same glossy white plastic. This move implies so many disadvantages. Imagine you work intensively for at least one hour on your MacBook. When you will take your hands away from the keyboard or touch pad, you will have to unstick your hands from the glossy plastic. Rather disturbing, or maybe Apple is trying to send the message that MacBook is not for intense work. This being said, the practicability of the new MacBook design is yet to be determined in time.

For the time being, the new MacBook looks really good. Even more, the build quality is remarkable. The unibody (even in plastic) is a true work of art. You get no flex or weird noises when handling the MacBook. Even more, any users (no matter how moody) will get to the same conclusion regarding the design; it is flawless, at least. This new laptops has a height of 1.08 inches (or 2.74 cm not varying by any means), wide of 13 inches (or 33.03 cm), deep of 9.12 inches (or 23.17 cm), the new unibody MacBook weights about 4.7 pounds (or 2.13 Kg).

Therefore, Apple really made this laptop computer, almost too portable, biting out of MacBook Air. On the front and back side of the new MacBook Apple didn't include anything. The reason why the back side might be plain is because the display works like a hinge when opened. However, you can find on the right side the Super Drive slot (because this DVD drive doesn't open, it is built in - like many other features, such as the battery). The 8x slot loading Super Drive is compatible with several disc formats, including CD - RW, DVD + RW, DVD - RW, DVD + R double layer, DVD - R double layer, and many other more (it can read more disc format files than write on them).


On the left side you get several ports and slots (the basic elements) the MagSafe power, the audio in and out, the Kensington lock slot, the Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 2.0, and the Mini Display Port. Basically, Apple only added the bare minimum in terms of ports, to connect a keyboard, a mouse, your iPhone and iPod, to connect the MacBook to an Apple branded LCD display. However, MacBook had never included more than the base connection package. Once you open the white new MacBook you will find a small keyboard. By far it can be considered a full keyboard, but it will have to do.

The keys are also made of white material, well sized and with a good space between them. You get no flex when using the keys and the feedback is more than enough. The only under sized keys are the navigational arrows, and the empowering keys. In time any non MacBook user will learn how to operate this laptop within full potential. Under the keyboard you can find the touch pad. However, this is a multi touch track pad. First of all it is located in the center below the keyboard. This means you mind find the whole writing process on the MacBook a little strange, since every laptop on the market has a touch pad deviation.

Basically this multi touch track pad will enable a whole new way for you to interact with your MacBook. There are at least six finger movement you should know before opening the MacBook, the one finger click works exactly how it sounds (just click wherever you want on the track pad - consider it to be a button), the right click works in two ways, you either click to finger anywhere on the track pad or click in the right corner of the track pad, the scroll feature (just slide two fingers up or down the track pad), pinch (used to zoom either photos or web pages), swipe (to move within a gallery, or between the tabs in the navigational browser - swipe three fingers to make it work), and the rotate feature (just make a semi-circle on the track pad, and it will rotate a photo or a PDF).

Apple included within this new MacBook model a 13 inches LED backlight glossy display, capable of rendering up to 16 million colors. The good part of this display is that it support more resolutions than you might actually think, 720 x 480 pixels within 3 to 2 aspect ratio, 800 x 600 pixels and 640 x 480 pixels within the 4 to 3 aspect ratio, 1024 x 768 with the 4:3 aspect ratio, while in the 16 to 10 aspect ratio you get 640 x 480 pixels, 720 x 480 pixels, 800 x 500 pixels, 800 x 600 pixels, 1024 x 640 pixels, 1024 x 768 pixels, 1152 x 720 pixels, and the native resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

The bad part of this display is that it features a glossy look. Therefore, the display will offer almost no brightness under direct sunlight. The connectivity department is medium assured, by the built in AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi with 802.11n profile, compatible with 802.11 a/b/g, the built in Bluetooth 2.1 with the enhanced data rate, and the RJ 45 - 10 Base T / 100 Base T / 1000 Base T Gigabit Ethernet. The audio department is only featured by built in stereo speakers with no special surround sound, or bass. Apple added in the new version of MacBook a starting processor of 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3 MB, L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB, only 2 GB SDRAM, but sporting the latest 1066 MHz DDR3 technology (expandable to 4 GB), the 250 GB hard drive with 5400 rotations per minute, and the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphic chipset with 256 MB DDR3 SDRAM. The built in battery (Lithium Ion battery) should provide up to 7 hours wireless productivity, with almost 1000 recharges.

Even if Apple insists, that this battery will last you for five years, I don't really agree with the built in batteries. It is not only unusual, but also frustrating to ship your laptop in service only to change a battery. The new MacBook is shipped with the latest Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard including some important applications and the iLife 2009. The base model, presented above has an asking price of $999, and includes in the retail package 60W MagSafe Power Adapter, the charger, the power cord, the DVD software, and documentations. As expected the new MacBook sports a few new features within a better design.

However, the starting price of $999 is still too much, since you can find better products on the market with the highest version reaching the $999 price tag. Therefore, once again Apple is trying to convince its customers that its products worth more than the rest of the devices on the market. At the end of the day, it is every customer's choice whether the new MacBook is worthy or not.

Sometimes the reality may surprise you for the better or for the worse. In the last category I might just include, today, Storm8 LLC. When I first started to write about the top three free games on App Store I had no idea that Storm8 LLC will have a game in the top with every written article, until today. You might be surprised to find out that for some time now Storm8 LLC hasn't released any new games, and even if they secretly released one or two games, they surly didn't end up on the top three free games on App Store. Maybe users decided to take a break from social networking games, and decided to try out some free versions of full paid applications. The first application is on the top three free games on App Store, is not developed by Storm8 LLC, but it is developed by Gameloft.

On August 28, 2009, Gameloft released the latest version of "Guitar Rock Tour 2 FREE!". This application provides more music than the "Guitar Rock Tour". You basically get more of everything, songs, environments, and other new features. You can currently find "Guitar Rock Tour 2 FREE!" on App Store under the Games category with the latest version, 1.0.5, available for download free of charge. This game was developed for both second and third generation operating system for iPhone mobile platform. Also, the "Guitar Rock Tour 2 FREE" works on both iPod touch and iPhone running the proper operating system. In the free version you only get one mission, to pay at either drum or guitar with your band in front of the Statue of Liberty. The only song you can play is "Born To Be Wild".

However, the full version of this game provides with sufficient features to keep you entertained, such as the new track list including over 18 songs ("I Love Rock 'N Roll", "Paranoid", Call Me" and many other more). You can either play the guitar or the drum, but whatever you chose, don't play one single note wrong because your audience will not appreciate. A nice feature is the multiplayer mode, where you can play with anyone you might like to challenge. However, you need a steady internet connection in order to play this mode. Basically this game will be appreciate (either the free or paid version) by anyone who likes rock music.

The story line is not fundamentally important because this game is all about challenges. The game play is quite nice, providing good replay feature. The graphics are indeed amazing, even if this game is a little static in animation. The sound effects and soundtrack is well thought, since the game delivers excellent audio quality. To complete the user experience Gameloft also added great controls (intuitive, easy to use). "Guitar Rock Tour 2" provides ten tour stops locations, like New York, Egypt, and even Tokyo. Basically the free version will only determine you to purchase the full version. I am guessing that anyone played by now at least once Hangman, either on paper or on computer.

Since many applications for the iPod touch and iPhone replace the actual writing on paper, it was only a matter of time until Hangman game would be converted to an iPod game. On August 18, 2009, seller Yongkai Lei, under the VirtueSoft.com's umbrella, released the latest version of "Hangman Classic Free" a dark and twisted, yet excellent word puzzle game. You can currently find this application on App Store under the Games category with the latest version, 1.3, available for downloading free of charge. It was developed to work on both iPod touch and iPhone running either the 2^nd (later than the 2.1) or 3^rd (from 3.0) generation of operating system for iPhone mobile platform. This game provides you with two game modes (if you can call them game modes), the chalk on blackboard hangman, or the pencil on paper hangman. It is needless to say that the graphics are common at beast, nothing extraordinary, no exciting environments, or impressive sound tracks.

This game screams "Free of charge" within every base code. The controls are simple, because you only have to choose letters from the onboard alphabet keyboard. You only get two controls within the game, settings, and new game. The words are selected within eight different categories, such as World countries, Colors, Family, Food & Drink, Clothes, Body Parts, Fruit and Vegetable, and the Standard English words category. As it was to be expected the full version offers more features than the free version including SAT vocabulary category, Transport category, Flowers category, Animals category, Sports category, GRE vocabulary category, and basic standard English words category.

The third application on the top three free games is an extremely funny speed action game, which you will remember for at least six months after you get bored of it. On October 13, 2009, Kin Hyowon released under the D&Tech 7's umbrella the "Slap Star Lite", one of the most addicting free action games found on App Store. You can currently find this application on App Store under the Games category with the latest version, 1.2.3, available for download free of charge. This game was developed for both iPod touch and iPhone running the 2^nd (from 2.2.1) and 3^rd (from 3.0) generation operating system for iPhone mobile platform. The story line is straight forward. The leading character is night clubbing woman, which finds she is alone in the middle of a full moon night. She must fight in order to survive the zombie attacks. The controls are intuitive and easy to use; just touch the screen to slap the zombies with her purse (touch in the direction where you want her to flip her purse).

The game will end when your health points will drop to zero. The game provides two basic game modes, normal mode and mania mode (which is a race for your life against time). Indication: tap the screen to hit your purse when the zombies are near and not before. With every new released version, the developer added several new features including pause button, score management, world ranking (in the 1.1), new zombie mode (1.2), and health points added (1.3). Basically the "Slap Star Lite" is a great game, even more it is free. Therefore, you get many features for no fees, pure action fun for free, a true bargain I might say.

Overall, today's top three free games on App Store, is quite dynamically mixed. The first game is just trying to convince you to buy the full version. The "Hangman" game and the "Slap Star Lite" are good games which can easily be played within the free version. It is basically not necessary to buy the full versions, since these last two games provide all the fun you might need or want.
