Spreadsheet For iPhone!

Just as a side note, something that needs to be said - I hate spreadsheet software, no matter if we're talking about PC, BlackBerry, or iPhone as the platform it's running on. While I have to agree that statistics helps a lot of people live better, at least when used right, this is a science that makes my skin crawl. Yupp, you got me, any math that involves symbols gives me serious headaches, but if you really need some spreadsheet for iPhone... here it is!
Spreadsheet for iPhone

Not so long ago, Softalk announced Spreadsheet 2.0, a major update to its spreadhseet software for iPhone and iPod Touch. According to the company, this program comes with all the tools you need to create professional-level spreadsheets in no time, like scrollable/zoomable view, cell formatting features, as well as the standard functions one would expect to find(I'll tell you about them a bit later).

One of the best things coming with Spreadsheet 2.0 for iPhone is the support for Microsoft's ubiquitous XLS format, as well as XML Spreadsheet and CSV format import capability. The improvements of this latest version include the ones below:

- Cell Merging
- Unlimited Rows and Columns
- Faster transfer of workbooks between the desktop and the device
- Improved Emailing of Spreadsheets
- Several additions to the supported functions

Requiring any iPhone or iPod Touch with software 2.0 or later, Spreadsheet 2.0 for iPhone is priced at $7.99 and only available on the notorious Apple App Store.

Mac OS X Tuning

Ready for some Mac OS X tuning? As long as you're not writing the press release about such a great tool, I don't think a "little big" delay could cause any problems. I don't say this as an excuse, but as a try to point out the usefulness of MacTuneUp, a piece of code that got updated about a week ago...
Mac OS X Tuning

According to its producer, MacTuneUp is "a total system utility that prevents system instability and speeds up your Mac," but I wouldn't buy all that. I am not a fanboy, but I still have to see a Mac that's unstable due to software issues, while the speeding up part... well, that could be true, after all.

Macware's revised Mac OS X tuning tool comes with a bunch of features, including the ability to create bootable backups, and tools like the Internet Booster, Mac Maintenance, Enhanced Firewall, or Quick Info. No need to tell you what each of them does, I am sure! ;)

MacTuneUp 3.5 also got a lot of improvements, like faster launch and increased overall performance on "Mactels," the ability to interrupt file deletion at any time, as well as a few Leopard-only features, like improved cache file deletion and special Network Optimizer settings.

To run MacTuneUp 3.5 successfully, you need to have at least Mac OS X 10.4, 256Mb of memory, and as little as 10Mb of disk space. Oh, yeah! You'll also need to pay $34.99 to buy this handy Mac OS X tuning tool, action that can be performed here(don't worry, no iTunes needed!).

Word Games And Puzzles For iPhone!

Tired of hearing stories about my memories? If you feel that, drop a comment below, as long as you're not going to try and advertise for some online casino and say "you are right" or "useful information, thank you," I will be glad to answer your comments. The main reason is that I always liked word games and puzzles, no matter if we're talking about the real world, Internet, or even the iPhone. Obviously, today's target is a little piece of code that can be easily chosen as the ambassador of word games and puzzles for iPhone, Syed Jafri's Stitch'em Words!
Word Games And Puzzles For iPhone!

This game's latest version, Stitch'em Words Ultimate Edition 2.0, was released about a week ago, but I couldn't write about it back then. Why? Well, I've been busy solving the word games and puzzles that come with it, of course! Heh, maybe I didn't manage to go all the way, but for about $2, Stitch'em Words provides quite a lot!

Now...let's see what's so special about this word games and puzzles for iPhone package, shall we? Since the first edition of the game proved to be extremely popular, the second version improves the path already taken, providing a lot of fun while requiring you to "stitch" pictures and letters together to form words, all in a Rebus-style.

With hundreds of levels, the game also allows you to find hidden slang words and earn bonus points while doing that, apart from allowing some players to even discover words they had no idea about...

To make you come back to it even after going through all its levels, Stitch'em Words Ultimate Edition 2.0 also gives you the chance to play quick random bonus rounds that include "math for the not-so-faint-hearted," as the official press release says.

Requiring any iPhone or iPod Touch running the software version 2.2 or later, Stitch'em Words Ultimate Edition 2.0 is priced at $1.99 and exclusively available through Apple's App Store.

iPod Touch Status – Awesome

Please, give me an iPod Touch, will ya? Pretty, pretty, pretty please, with a cherry on top! Just joking, I hope you got the idea... but here's what I would do if I would wake up with some iPod Touch in my pocket - sell it, that's what I would do. Why sell it? To get a serious portable media player, that's why!
iPod Touch Status
Just as a side note, I am not crazy about having Internet access on my player, and I am crazy about losless music... and since I am ripping all my CDs to FLAC, you can get the idea, I am sure of that.

Anyway, all the above takes us to another of those things that should not be - iPod Touch domination! Fortunately, we can't talk about a domination on the MP3 players market, because the cheaper iPods have already conquered it entirely, although there are quite a few better competitors that are even cheaper, but let's avoid that discussion, at least this time.

According to latest reports from analysts, the iPod Touch has a Web market share three times as large as it was five months ago, growing from 0.04 to 0.15 percent, with a speed that left even the iPhone in the dust! Obviously, we are talking about mobile devices here, and it is also worth being mentioned that Windows' share has gone all the way down, reaching its lowest point ever.

Anyway, this doesn't mean Windows Mobile is going to die, it's just the fact that there are more and more iPod Touch users going online. It would be really interesting to know how many of those who own a Windows Mobile device carry it around together with a laptop, using "the big brother" to go online...
