When talking about iPhone unlocking, most people would think about some hardware hack or the now notorious Pwnage Tool, but today we'll talk about a different kind of iPhone unlocking. That's strange, isn't it? Well, apart from the iPhone itself, there's something else that needs unlocking - at least sometimes - and we're talking about the files on it, of course. If you ever had problems accessing various types of media files, OrbLive can help you by turning that into a memory!

Basically, we're talking about a $10 application(currently available in Apple's App Store) that allows your iPhone to access media files available on a PC, including videos, music, live TV and live streaming from a webcam. Even better, OrbLive works via any available data network, so you don't have to worry about not having Wi-Fi, as long as you got some 2G or 3G<-180x150 Small Rectangle - right-> connection around you can use.

The funny part is that not so long ago, OrbLive required users to jailbreak their phones, since the original version was written before the App Store became available. Now, OrbLive 2.0 is ready to be grabbed from the App Store for a mere 10 bucks, as I was just saying.

At last, if you're not one of those who buy first and ask questions later, I suggest you to grab the free trial that is limited to playing three random titles of each media type, by using the same App Store link above. Enjoy! ;)

Since Macs are not usually used for any hardcore gaming, and the PlayStation 3 can't do a lot of things Apple's computers can, a "Mac vs PS3" match wouldn't have any purpose. Well, if we slightly move from "Mac vs PS3" to a "team battle," we could get to those users who own them both, and would like to share content between them, because that's exactly what today's software tool, namely MediaLink, is all about.

The features offered by this program include, but are not limited to:

- the ability to copy media from your Mac to your PlayStation 3's internal hard drive

- full folder organization support, allowing you to easily locate music, photos and videos in any folder on your Mac and even preview it<-125x125 Button - right-> and collect ID3 information from your songs

- remote play via the Internet with your PlayStation 3 and MediaLink(if you also have a PSP, of course)

- view your iPhoto photo library and slideshows on your television screen

If you want to find out more about the media formats supported, you should go and check the official MediaLink product page, but I won't just go and leave you now, because there's something more you have to know - a price, and the system requirements, of course!

Priced at only $20.00, this "Mac vs PS3 hero" requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later,
a PlayStation 3 with a network connection, iTunes 7.5 or later for iTunes sharing, iPhoto '08 or later for iPhoto sharing (part of Apple's iLife suite), as well as Aperture 2.0 or later for Aperture photo sharing, all these 3 on the Mac, of course!

Usually, when I get out of the house wearing my MP3 player(and some clothes with it, of course), I end up in front of a beer with some friends. In some cases, it all ends after a few beers too many, but since I don't drive and I never drink as much as needed to crawl on the sidewalk, there's no problem. I never had to use any alcohol breath tester, and - to be honest - I am not curious at all about the blood alcohol levels achieved after meeting my friends, but hearing about an alcohol breath tester for iPod really made me anxious to find out more about it.

The device pictured above comes from David Steele Enterprises, and its full name is "iBreath iPod Breathalyzer and FM Transmitter." Its part in charge of handling the alcohol breath tester task can give accurate blood alcohol levels in about two seconds after the user did what he shouldn, and that is breathe into a tube for five seconds. <-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->Finally, the blood alcohol content is displayed in a range from 0.000 to 0.100%, but what about negative values?(I need...alcohol...alcohol...one beer or I'll die!!!)

Since the breathalizer isn't something really attractive for iPod users by itself, the maker added an FM transmitter, which allows you to broadcast iPod tunes to your car or home stereo. Priced at $79.00, the iBreath iPod Breathalyzer and FM Transmitter is already available, and since the price is only available as an introductory offer, you should grab it now, if it looks like this alcohol breath tester for iPod may be useful to you, since price will go up to $89 after a while!

For those who just want a smart phone, and simply want to be "cool," the iPhone is a choice worthy being considered, only that, when we talk about iPod Touch vs iPhone, there's a bit more to consider. I know a lot of people crazy about mobile gaming, and it seems that in that area, the iPod Touch vs iPhone match has a clear winner, and that is the iPod. To be more specific, we're talking about the 2nd generation iPod Touch, which seems to be the best mobile gaming platform from Apple, according to a recent report...

The story goes like this - Handheld Games Corp, a mobile developer, talked with TouchArcade about the performance of its 3D TouchSports Tennis game, currently <-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->available in the App Store for $4.99.

According to this mobile developer, the 3D hardware on the iPhone and iPod Touch seems to be really challenged by their game, while the 2nd generation iPod Touch would run it flawlessly.

Although this isn't probably the only big difference between the iPod Touch 2nd gen and "the others," it is worth being mentioned that 2nd Generation iPod Touch had its processor's frequency quietly pushed up to 532MHz, while the iPhone 3G, 1st gen iPhone and 1st gen iPod Touch all have processors running at 412MHz.

These being said, there's only one conclusion to remember - if you're into mobile gaming on Apple handheld devices, then the only way to go is the latest iPod Touch, so the music player scores once again in the "iPod Touch vs iPhone" match, although I am sure the match will be discontinued because of bad weather...;)

Without sleeping and eating, I think we would really have a global economic crash. Just think about this - tomorrow, when you wake up, you feel no need to eat or drink, while at 2AM, you feel no need to sleep and - even more - you're simply unable to sleep, eat, or drink. That would really crash the global economy, but I am sure the gaming industry would really take off, since all of us would have much more time left for entertaining ourselves. Anyway, today we're not going to talk about gaming, since there's something even more interesting - dining. Well, not quite only dining, since "dining and the iPhone" sounds much better!

Since I don't like to talk a lot before getting to the food-related part, let's say that Zagat To Go, priced at $9.99, and OpenTable, a free iPhone app, are today's targets matching the "iPhone dining" description.

First of all, Zagat To Go bundles the 2009 version of the notorious Zagat Survey Restaurants, <-250x250 Square - right->Nightlife, Shopping, and Hotels guides, giving you quick access to the ratings of the place you're just about to visit, right on your iPhone. After all, it's better to find out you're making a mistake a few steps before making it, don't you think?

Well, once you know what's up with the place you want to visit, you can simply fire up OpenTable, and take full advantage of this free real-time system which allows you to check which restaurants have availability, which are completely booked, and which have openings only in certain time slots. Obviously, you can do all this online, without calling all those locations you may want to go to and are fully booked. If only dining would be free with this program, everything would be perfect...but you'll still have to pay for your food and drinks, unfortunately...
