
No, I didn't write that wrong, and nobody did anything illegal. A MacBook Air was hacked in 2 minutes by a team of security researchers, by using an undisclosed Safari vulnerability, and they got the $10k for this. Not bad at all!
During the "Pwn to Own" contest, sponsored by TippingPoint, Charlie Miller, Jake Honoroff, and Mark Daniel of Independent Security Evaluators, managed to gain control of a MacBook Air by using a web page previously set up by them, so I guess it didn't take only 2 minutes, after all.
For now, it's good to know that the "good guys" have discovered this vulnerability, but I don't want to think what could happen to some users when they do. Just...let's hope Apple will manage to fix this problem in time!
